Well, I've seen it now. It was very good. But they had too much jokes in this one, you'll understad when you see it. Also, I think the directing was a little bit mushy, but maybe that's just me. Anyways, those of you who like WarCraft 3 and Lord of the Rings should definitely see this one!

i saw it last night. only two words can explain the movie...

HOLY SHIT!

lol, personally i loved the movie. and the jokes the dude spoke of were great. it was only really gimli and smeagol that made the jokes. but gimli was freaking hilarious. and the battle of helm's deep follows the book pretty well. legolas and gimli even compete like they did by counting their kills. in the end i think legolas won b/c he shot down a huge ladder with like 30 some odd people on it and it landed on another 100 people. lol. that speech about dwarf women though was a little disturbing :- ;D anyway every1 should see this movie.

You have only 2 words to describe this movie???? THATS IT?

i have only 121,256 words to describe this movie. I dont have time to list them all, but the first 3 are "THIS MOVIE ROCKS"

i'll be seeing it a second and a third time here in the next couple days.

also, I hope george lucas watches this and learns how to make computer animations blend with real characters and seemlessly realistic. Hopefully Lucas will take notes

Nah, they could've done better with the animations too. Take a closer look on the ent scenes for example. And the battle isn't soo hard to do with 3D, when it's dark, rainy and foggy... trust me, I have a friend working with animations. Anyways, I'm not saying this is a bad movie, it is very good indeed.

It comes out on Boxing Day down here in Melbourne. I'll probably see it either then or the next Tuesday after, since it is cheaper to go to the movies on Tuesdays. (Last time I checked anyway, which hasn't been for quite some time.) :P

If I remember correctly, in the book, niether won, as they both scored the same at the end. However, you never know exactly *what* Peter Jackson's gonna pull... ;)

Either way, I plan on seeing it around noon tomorrow. I've seen enough of the previews, and, listening to you guys go on and on... ;) I can hardly wait :)

oh man, that was funny too. you all know how gollum was 'two people' right? Smeagol and Gollum. the whole deal with his murder of deagol etc. etc. anyway, he fights with gollum to be alone. he wins and starts dancing around saying he's free. and then his song about the fish in the forbidden pool by faramir. aww funny stuff. it's just such an astounding relief to be able to give a definetive picture to some of those characters.

Well it's the movie that never ends...

Absolutely, breathtakingly, wonderfully, powerfully, awesomely, and totally, the best movie I've seen in a long time.

I know there were a few strayings from the book, but they weren't enough to matter, and they added thier own little storyilines to the finished product.

Treebeard was better than I could've imagined it. Helm's Deep, breathtaking. And the opening sequence with Galdalf and the Balrog was perfect. Gollum's character couldn't have been better, the whole Legolas/Gimli thing was hilarious.

I can't wait to see it again. Sometime this weekend, probably.

Peter Jackson knows when to deviate from the book for cinematic purposes and when to stay strict to it. he is doing a masterful job so far, in my opinion, at bringing Tolkiens vision to the movie screen. absolutely amazing work.

It is a truly awesome film, too bad they couldn't put the whole book in (I suppose it would be like 4-5 hours if they did).

An absolute master-piece

I don't know about other countries, but here you could see the first movie right before the second on the premier day, in cinemas! And yes, they still show both movies on the big screen.
