how do i get a research centre and gather resource?

Every turn your resources update, how much is added is indicated by the number (+700 for example). When you get enough resources that the building indicates what is required, you can click on it and then click build. It will take 24 hours (or 12?) to make it, so you don't have to check on it for another day.

click on planet tab then on far right there will be the word building. click on it.

Is there really a need for farms? You can support 1000 man with 1 food, or farms make population rises faster?

It's just good to have. When you have 50k people, that's 50 units every hour, and the planet can't produce that on it's own to my knowledge, so a farm is nice to have. I have two atm. And 11 more turns on the research. :)

It's free quit complaning just enjoy. Anybody joined any alliances in their sector? 50 rulers per sector including yourself an alliance doesn't sound like a bad idea. lol
