Our Imagination, Our Future?

Edric it's just a game ::) And it's strange how you use theories that suggest solar systems formed themselves...Which is a theory anyways, a likely one at that.

Who knows, maybe there are different kinds of black holes? We've only just scratched the surface of black holes, so maybe there is a strange, out-of-this-world black hole that catches us by surprise.

i love star wars, star trek and dune but none of them seem to be very realistic to me.

perhaps something like homeworld would be possible, but not very likely..

the last thing i would want to happen though is if the alien universe became real, now that's freaky

That is highly unlikely, Acriku.

You want something to worry about? Take near-Earth asteroids. We have discovered less than a third of them, and if a big one comes along, we might just see it only when it enters the atmosphere...

It's true that we are tracking all rocks big enough to wipe us out like the dinosaurs, and none of them is getting close. But there are plenty of smaller ones still big enough to obliterate a large city. And lower global temperatures with a few degrees for a few decades (by throwing large amounts of dust into the atmosphere).

Edric, it's called playful imagination. No one is leaning over the red button to destroy the world by saying such things, so lighten up for crying out loud.

The worst thing would be if the Terminator future happened. Why? Well, first we have half of our population killed (3 billion) by nukes and other explosives. Then, we have this never ending war before us, against the machines themselves. Basically, you will first have 50% of surviving the nukes, and if you do, you're doomed to fight.

Not pretty, huh?

hmm perhaps, the alien future looks scarier though... the entire human population impregnated with a monster that eats its way through your chest, that creature then grows up to a big bad alien with sharp nails, teeth and an inner jaw.... and on top of that is that it uses the most sadistic ways to kill someone i've ever seen

That happens in Evangelion too, but 15 years after it we all were salvated by Lilith ;D (altough it's in fact demon, but what Japanese know our myths?)

Very bad scenario was in Planet of Apes.

Bah, apocalypses never give witty one-liners. The most likely armageddon scenarios are:

1. Slow death by pollution, environment destruction and over-population. We're heading that way right now!

2. Nuclear war. All it takes is one trigger-happy maniac...

3. Asteroid. 'nuf said. :)

Einstein believes an atomic bomb will not kill the whole population, maybe about 2/3 of it. And we will fight world war IV with sticks and stones. Gotta love his way of thinking :)

Hmm...ok? Lol. Baby toys? What have you been smoking? Jk ;)

I told you it was some good stuff :P

I wonder how far off from having laser weapons rather than balistic ones... I'd love a laser chain gun ^-^
