Sig character limit

When I was trying to modify my profile I noticed I couldn't fit an extra quote in it no matter what I did, because the two links eat up most of the 300 characters.

I think it would be a very good idea to increase the limit to 500, or maybe 600 characters. I don't see the point in keeping it so restrictive, because a few hundred extra characters can't really have any influence on page loading times.

I guess they just wanted people to keep sigs small and if you have links/color/quotes thats just too bad.

I think I remember Gob telling me that they used to have it that tags didn't count, but who knows, tv dinners screw your brain up.

yup tv dinners and corndogs.... at least you can use the aluminum from the TV dinner to wrap your head so the CIA cant read you thoughts... those cornog sticks arent much good for nuthing... ^-^

The sig limit is just a maxlength value in the text box and as far as I remember it has always been that way. It also isn't easy to change it so it doesn't include tags. In my opinion sigs are already too big.

No it hasn't. It was 350 at some point in the past. I'm sure of it, because my sig was larger than the current limit, and when you edited my profile to put in the custom avatar, part of the sig was erased.

Speaking of which, my editing of the profile made the custom avatar go away. Please put it back. :)
