one of my worst games yet

i just played a game with slaphapy5 and...i think his name was yukiona or something. anyway, this was by far one of the most pathetic games i've played so far. it was not fun, it was not interesting, hell i didn't even stay for the whole game.

anyway, i was hark, slaphapy5 was ordos, yukiona was hark, and i had some ally name slapkill who was ordos. it was at spice bowl with 30k no units, pre built off, etc. etc. so i get stuck in the bottom left next to slaphapy. i start to pump out some inf and some saws along with a couple of fedaykin.

i TOTALLY overpower slaphapy's forces. i'm actually IN his base when yukiona says to me "Quit with the rush already." then i told him my theory on rushing blah blah blah. so i felt bad for him and i withdraw my stuff and leave. he says that anything b4 15 MINUTES is a rush.

so i'm sitting there building up my stuff, waiting to demolish this person, then like 5 minutes into the fight, yukiona comes at my rear entrance with 10 saws, 2 tanks, and a few meager guys. i take em out with ease without even moving my frontline by slaphapy. mind you, this was b4 even 10 minutes was up. i ask him again if i can start to attack and he says "no. still too soon". i got so f***ing pissed at the audacity that i just gave all my shit to my ally and said "f*ck this" "i'm leaving, have fun" it was too boring and too pathetic.

aside from that my ally didn't have much besides 2 kobras and a few laser tanks with a couple of gasers. i doubt he got the win. i just get so pissed when people tell i can't attack because it's "too soon" i just wanted to post this to see what you all thought about some people's "rushing rule"

There is no such thing is a rusher. There are only players who attack when they have the advantage. Players who do not attack when they have the advantage are poor players.

You know, I'll bet that slappypappy or whatever his name is would always say your attack is a rush. If you HAD waited 15 minutes, it'd be 30. At 30, it'd be an hour. Where does it end? A "rush" in his books is probably any attack that can beat him.

a rush in my books can consist of b4 three minutes with ONLY low level units like saws and inf. but i already had tanks IN his base with a few fedaykin.

Not at all. You're a nice guy for giving him some slack, but he's an ass for not giving you any in return. In skirmish I, too, take the fun of the other players into condsideration. But some people will say or do anything to win. Don't let your conscience sway you. I don't even think he has a problem with rushing. I think his only problem is when he's on the losing end of the deal. People who care that much about a skirmish just have to get used to the game. There ISN'T a minimum or maximum attack window.

IMO, if he isn't ready for your attack and he starts complaining about attacks that are 'too soon' or that he's 'not ready yet', then he just sucks. 30k Spice Bowl is a setting that I wouldn't even play the game on. In fact, I don't play any map with 30k anymore. If I want to have fun, I'll host a co-op and let anyone join the game and play. But when I'm in a skirmish, I'll attack when and where I feel like it (which is usually not my choice, because I mostly get rushed first, but anyway ;).) Like Darkkavu7 said, if they don't learn the game, they'll stay n00bs. I feel I'd be doing them a favour if I rushed 'too soon' and killed them in the first 15 minutes. Ok, so they might not like it, but at least they'll get better in the future (hopefully.) :P

i won a lot of bc's with quick rushes once i attacked a player in a bc i attacked with trikes and the other player when i was only about to finish his ref he told me "no rush!!! get your bikes out of my base! quick rushes players are n00bs!!!"

thats what he said i told him that its a good tactic so he quit ??? hes the real noob..

I always rush with hark when I see that I have the advantage. I've met some people who were saying "Rushing is a n00b tactic, etc.", but I never cared, because that is just a pathetic way for them to save their skin. There are no rules in war. So those people died in under 5 minutes. Maybe then, while they were looking at "Defeat" screen they were cursing at me for rushing them, but you know what? I don't give a crap. The only good opponent is a dead opponent ;)

About two months ago, Tenfor and I were playing a skirmish game, and one of the guys had Guild as a subhouse. His partner was pretty good, so I told Ten that we better not sit back and let the Guild guy do what Guild guys do. We sent our first-level units to his base and started attacking harvs and anything else that emerged. Oh, man, did he start bitching! Just as we had expected he was busy pumping out Guild tanks like crazy. He called us all kinds of names and told us that we were f---ing rushers, even though we weren't even entering his base yet because his partner was good and was keeping Ten's base quite busy. Anyhow, to make a long story shorter, we took out the Guild player's money really fast. He bitched and moaned, but I just asked him, "What, you expected us to just sit back against a Guild pumper until he's ready?" We killed him and then finished off his partner after a nice battle. The point is, some people think that the only fair game is a game where they have all their plans in place BEFORE you attack. That's not the nature of the game, and it's not the nature of real war, either.

people who have no skill in defending a rush, shouldnt be playing. ok, maybe if you have an almost 100% chance of beating them in a rush, go for it. people who cant defend a rush shouldnt be complaining about it. the time they spent typing could have helped them.

Any player with common sense (IMHO) won't be talking in the first 1-2 minutes of the game when it's just starting out. Unless it's just a simple 'gl' or 'hf'.

Well, a good player starts talking to distract the opponent, cause he maybe feels the need to answer, and forgets his bo or units production ;D

pft that slaphapydude has been around for some time, so i dont think its a noob. And when ppl start to moan about rushing while they give you 30k they really need to let their heads be examined.

I never take such requests, unless I can see (in 1 minute) that he really is a no0b. Mostly I try to give them some tips or sumthin.

But generally I think everybody should attack whenever they think they should.

If the enemy is unprepared, then so be it. Maybe they'll learn something out of it.

The one game I love of all time is where I was playing Harkonnen, my ally was Ordos, and other guys were Ordos and Hark Also. I built up a rush, sent it out, and was toying with this guys harvs right, I freakin get a contaminator from a crate, send it up to his men and I have like 9 contaminators riping his base to pieces (He didnt have anti infantry vechicles, he was a newer player ) and I killed like all his infantry and had a huge ass army of contaminators LOL. Oh this gets even better, my ally had a hard time against the last player ( He was real rusty ) and I sent my forces, well, I took his mech units out right, and he sent his Sardukar units, and he had killed my buzzs right, (To lazy to build more) and I sent my contaminators in....I took his fucking 14 sardukar out with my comtaiminators LOL. I ran around the whole map with my big ass army of em LOL. I mean one of'em from a crate leads to that lol, I've got a pick of the first base being destroyed by'em around here somewhere if someone wants it

You said that yukiona said that anything before 15 minutes is a rush, and it's pretty clear that yukiona didn't like the idea of you rushing 'too soon'.

However, if yukiona rushed you 5 minutes into the fight, then he's a hypocrite. He said before that anything before 15 minutes is considered a rush (and I presume that that means he didn't like you attacking/rushing before then), but then he comes and attacks you 5 minutes into the fight? Looks like his own 'rule' doesn't apply to him. ::)

and it might not have been 5 mintues. maybe around 7-9 tops but it was still less than 15 minutes. look, i'm not trying to insult anyone. i'm just saying that i don't like the rush rule. you people are all taking this the wrong way.
