for one, me. i actually gave nav a chance to prove to me that he was an ok person. he failed my test miserably. i don't feel like looking around for it but if you're bored it's called Just wanted to say hi. i never insulted him with the intent on becoming "popular." i've known most of you people b4 from soul reaver's site. and aside from that, i've been playing a long time. the fact is he just pissed me of.

I kinda agree. A lot of you people lowered yourselfs to the same level Nav did. There are some of you who are (or were) just as bad as Nav IMHO.

I truely hope the flame wars and accusations have ended...

I will admit to having stooped pretty low at times when faced with navs stupidity, and irresistably arrogant attituted. (Mind you I was never as low as him) But anyways, You've gotta fight fire with fire, it's an eye for an eye here, and I tried the civilized approach but nav will have nothing of it. He simply crosses the line to a point where it is untolerable, and I have just snapped on him. Maybe I have low self-control, I don't know. But either way nav deserved every single last bit of flamage he received.

I don't know Nyar, most of the people he verbally assualted were for poor reasons that he intiated. I don't think a "normal reaction" by those people is a problem.

Example: Xvayne including someone on a winners list then Nav says to Xvayne something like "Oh you support cheaters and defned them, so your accomplishements mean nothing" stuff like that.

Or like when I started a game despite his page that I kick a newb. He responds wanting to know why I didn't follow his order and that I love beating newbs and that's how I get my pleasure.

I mean sometimes there doesn't even have to be another side to the argument. I saw the daily show the other day and he commented on the sniper's defense lawyers saying something like "keep an open mind" I'm sorry but sometimes it's just obvious that you have it coming based on your actions. You can expect people to be disgusted.

ok, I know that Nav didn't get banned for hating me. Thats not a bannable offense. I really didn't care what Nav thought of me. He got banned because he hijacked one too many threads and made it into another "you hobbtz scum" flame attack. Now, this in itself isn't bannable, but if Gob tells you over and over again to quit hijacking threads taking them off topic (Which is AGAINST FORUM RULES btw), and you continue to ignore Gob, then getting banned is not only just, it is the only appropriate action to take. I never cared about flaming Nav. If I wanted to flame Nav, I would have put a special area on my website devoted to flaming him. But i never did that. Simply because I dont care what he thinks of me- i only care when he ruins my threads. THAT was why he was banned- repeatedly breaking forum rules despite being warned many times by Gob.

Someone should at least mention that Nav, once in very long while, made a good, intelligent post. His comments about Warcraft III, for example, were right on the money, IMHO. He always hated it when people would "spam" his threads, although for Nav, any disagreement with him at all was "spamming." However, that said, Nav just could not hold back his typing fingers--he had to insult everyone else (except his twin and idol, DukeLeeto)--and he ruined so many good posts that didn't need his crap in them. That was the clincher right there--his inability to maintain a mature discussion without attacking, insulting and profaning every chance he got.

Well id rate wc3 as good as emperor and it probably takes more skill to play..alot more micro. The support, tournys, ladders and the abundance of players is what does it for me.

How u guys continue to play a deserted game like emp really does amaze me. ::) dont get me wrong it was good in its day however since about march its been a joke.

I would play Wc3 aswell sice you have proved to me that they REALLY support thier games but i wont have the cash till Xmas so till then im just gonna stick around emperor hehe...

uhhh, i hate to say this but just because you are gone, doesn't equate to the top players being gone. I wouldnt exactly call D3, elite or acelethal newbies.

dark is no newb either.

and some of those top players (like beerinato, for example) wouldnt stand a chance against ppl today because his tactics were revolutionary at the time, but those same tactics are old news today.

You can take an 'average' player now and put him back in the second month this game was released, and he'd be ranked in the top 10.

I gotta agree with Emprworm. Back in the day, new tricks were being developed to get the win. I remember the early days of the ordos rush and how people thought it was unstoppable. Other tricks have since developed (like rushing to guild in QM) and people have found ways to counter them. At this point, I think most strats have been developed and people know how to counter everything. That would mean it is harder to surprise people now or simply rely on the old ordos/hark rush like some used to.

As an atr player D3K could probably step in and still be great. Beerinato I had seen on not too long ago.....that was in skirmish...maybe he is in QM also. I don't know but just saying that I have seen him in the not too distant past.

I mean I'm even in the QM ladder this month =) I am undefeated with my one win....hehe.

exactly. some of these old timers who think they are the best thing since sliced bread would get a spanking now days simply because what were elite tactics back in their day is old news today. now i'm not saying they suck by any means, i'm just saying that a great player 1 year ago is not necessarily a great player today. He MIGHT be, but it is not a guarantee.

Just for clarification: WCIII is a great game. The campaigns are great. If I didn't know the Westwood-style RTS game, I'd be singing the praises of Blizzard. I just prefer Emperor for multiplay, and, as you all probably know by now, I'm ust waiting for Generals, so why take the time to get good at WCIII when I would just abandon it in February?

WC3 campaigns are much better than Emperor, definitely. Online though, I think I prefer playing Emperor. I think both games are the greatest thing since sliced bread though =)

Listen to you guys.....Warcraft, Navaros, and even a discussion of sliced bread....you must have some kind of attentin disorder..hehe. Can't seemt to find a topic and stick to it.

As a side note, I think I used to do the same thing. Take that stuff off and then put garlic on the bread and eat it...something like that. You guys caused me to remember that...I had blocked it out of my concious =)

yes the top players of the day left because the game was dead at the time (even more so now). D3k said in feburary "its all newbies now" i wonder what he would think now.

I was referring to alot of u players who have played for a year and only now reach a decent ranking..the people who adapted quick and won 1st place first few months of the game shows skill! and people like myself ear and d3k won other titles and if they had continued to play would have won many more.

Things do change over time, i won hark in Nov 2001 (39-1) then on feb and april (25-0) and may (28-1)..i didnt get worse over time i got better and the ladder got easier. I thrived and looked forward to playing the best in qm ladder at the end of the month (winner take all).

End of the day i just prefer playing a game with alot of players and competition to match. Something that isnt present in emp and hasent been for many months.
