Interested in RTS?

I'm posting this for the benefit of anyone looking for a new game. I thought I would post it here so everyone who plays emperor (all 50 of us) could find a good game that may interest them. The thread is starting under the EBFD section but I don't think it will end here =) Maybe the mods could leave it for a day or two, since not all players here go the other sections.

If you check gamespot at http://www.gamespot.com you will find a review for Age of Mythology. The game got an outstanding rating, in the 90's. There are likely some other review out there as well. The game came out within the last couple days and seems to be fairly good. I haven't played it personally. So, for those of you interested in RTS, check out the review of the game and see if it's something you like. The online should be fairly good as well, since it is from the same people as Age of Empires.

i cant be bothered with it..its one of those games u end up playing a 3 hour long game..just too time consuming. (if its anything like AoK)

Well I never played AOK online, so I don't know. I can imagine they were long though. Especially when compared to Emperor where a hark or ordos player is used to 15 minute games.

I still wouldn't pre-judge the game based on Age of Empires though. From my experience, people come down extremely hard on games in which the maker simply reuses the original game, so I would think the great rating indicates the reviewer found something that was different and likeable.

Aside from that game, Stronghold: Crusader looks like a good game.....I think its even cheap compared to some others.

WHAHAH in that case i wouldn't recommend Knights and Merchants to you. My games are often 9 hours or longer.

ofcourse not in one day but it's incredible to play 11 hours on the same level. Creating 300 troops hahah.... fitting them with body armor, shields a weapon, food, gold omg... that game was so big, and still fun. but it was incredibly hard

"ages" is a stupid concept. why would i want to play a whole load of half-baked mini-games instead of a one fully-baked game where i got attached to my army and units?

also, since humans can only live for on earth for one lifetime, it's a very stupid idea to expect them to enjoy playing with a whole load of different armies from new time periods. that concept is a huge turn off

is age of mythology like that? does it "progress" through time like the other games before it? if so i'd definitely never touch it just like i never touched the other ones

Damn weird isnt it? that a 2 (?) year old game which was never really alive can be so addictive.

I tried other games in my emp time but i never really like any of them, while they were all the newest games, with the finest graphs and smoothest gameplay.

U gotta give it to emp. :O

heh i didn't, i got to lvl 12 out of 20. after that it became hard and i lost interest, but i'm planning to return soon. The animations are cool. it just can be frustrating that hours of work can be negated so easily. not by enemy troops, but lack of food. And my roads get too small so my workers take a lot of time to bring one good from one side of my base to another. but if you finished lvl, you do feel quite proud. I mean you did so much work to get there, and yo u did it!
