My brother put Kazaa on my comp (without my permission, not the lite version). When I say I don't want that spyware junk on my comp, he says Mozilla (wich I use) and programs such as Yahoo messenger (wich I also use) are also spyware.

Is this true?

And I intend to boot Kazaa from my comp. I know there was a thread about this earlier, but can someone please give me the link for a program that deletes everything Kazaa has put on my comp?

Who cares if they are. Just makesome firewall policies for them and monitor the packadges they send. If they are doing anything you don't like or want it'll show up and you can block it.

And even some programms that arn't made to de spyware have an abilety in it to be spyware.

A better thing would be to start using some encription on your HD and in your OS. So your brother [ and other people ] simply can't read your data.

Mozilla is not spyware. It does have a talkback program that sends off a message about details on the crash but you are asked the first time Mozilla crashes and you can easily turn it off. I have yet to see an open source program include spyware.

I don't know about Yahoo but I doubt it would, you could always use something like Trillian if it does.

spyware are just sophisticated cookie's - not connected with viruses. A virus is an uninvited guest where a cookie is. Gator and products like theirs are installed on your system with your knowledge, therefore allowing permission for them collate data about you and your preferences.

With app's that have spyware on them (morpheus, kazaa, etc) make it much easier to get viruses. They don't inspect any files for viruses, they don't give you any virus scanner, they just let you download them.
