Chances were 1 in 3 trillion...

i just wonder how you got 3 trillion? However, the fact that it came up in the NEW YORK lottery, not just another lottery is rather unusual. The odds of that happening are probably less than 1 in 1000. Its kind of like rolling 2 consecutive 6's. After you roll the first 6, you still have a 1 in 6 chance of getting another. however, when looking at it as a set, you had a much slimmer chance of rolling 2 6's consecutively. I dunno, probability is wierd stuff.

Edric stop spreading your meaningless propaganda, it isn't possible to be fixed because if you look at the pickings fram by frame you could see how the ball came in, totally random from the bunch.

acriku. you dont understand. Edric thinks that there is a conspirecy. That we should stop gambling and all be good people. Submit to the world order and things will be great. ;)

Of all the lotteries in the world, there is a fairly good chance that something of interest would come up in any one.

Does the article compare the occurrence with how many lottery results DIDN'T show some connection?

Most media doesn't take note of such things as non-unusual lottery results. Since we only hear about when it does happen, the impression we get that some very strange coincidence is going on is mugely overrated.

He, we live in a world where the Olympics can be bought. We need judges to evaluate if the winner in a beauty contest was the true winner.

What can I say, I agree with Edric O.

Gryphon, how can you fix a lottery drawing? Too many people oversee it and too many people know exactly the procedure and making of the machine. So explain how it could be fixed.

Ever see the movie Lucky Numbers? stars John Travolta and Lisa Kudro (Phoebe on friend ;D)

Its a movie about riggin a lotto... maybe someone saw the movie :O :P ;D

lets hope not :-

I did see that movie. ;)

The fact that many people can see it doesn't mean it's not possible. I've "seen" a guy making a whole train disapear. And I think a lot of you have seen that same trick to.

How can it be fixed ? Who knows. Let's say someone started a topic on "how can you fix a lottery draw". Then no one would say it's not possible. We would all have our own theories.

From simple. A magnetic ball and a magnet at the bottom that can be swithched on. Theory is not compleat but shurly you can think of how it ends.

Making the ball slightly heavier. This combined with a adaptation in the rotation of the ball they are in could get some fixed results to.

But I really don't know how they did it. Just that with the curent things we can. Making a specific ball fall out is pretty simple compaired to laser guided bombs, cloning and al that other neat stuff science can do.

I won't be supprised that when you give this assigment to a class at collage at let them find an answer the will have one in 1 month.

And if it isn't science, it can also be just a trick of magic. Pulling a bunny out of a hat, flossing your ears. Or fixing a lottery draw.

How hard can it be ?

ok the numbers being 9, 1, & 1 is weird enuff already even if it was just luck of the draw...

but what i think is even weirder is 5631 people picked those numbers to be the winning ones :O

Is Martha Stewert mad she has to share he money with 5000 others ;D O0 j/k
