DSL vs. Cable: Battle for the Broadband

I don't think the standards for cable and DSL speeds are the same where ever you are, are they ? Here in the Netherlands the download speed for DSL is ten times the download speed of cable. Upload speed is varriable, depending on your subscription. ( 125 per sec. or 256 ) The distances from the "severs" arn't that big. ( We are a small country :) ) So overall, DSL is faster then cable.

( this is just for my country, and we have only one sort of DSL subscription to subscribe to, just ADSL. Some of the companies however have "private nets" that have other forms of DSL and fiber optics but that's not for most of the "normal" subscribers. )
