Devastator_Mech perhaps you should come online in a game with me and ken124578 some time. You'll soon see how easy it is to pull off an engineer drop in the first 5-10 mins of the game. I've beaten many people using the exact tactic that ken just described.

Absolutely it doesn't apply to me, any airdrop would be nothing more than a free chevron to my missiles or troopers(but i usually forget to say thx)

Umm, it's pretty damn hard to get a Mongoose when you're House Harkonnen. Or can you get a Gun Turret when you're House Atreides? Just WHICH house are we talking about here?

I've edited it, mongoose or missiles, both are AA units anyway.

Yes, but the Mongoose won't take out the Advanced Carryall unless it hits it about 3 times. During that time, the Advanced Carryall will already have flown over and past the Mongoose into the base and set the APC down safely. Against Advanced Carryalls, it matters a lot how quickly you take them down.

Of course you build more than one Mongoose. But how long does it take you to get an adequate air defence all around your rock plateau?

Thats why snipers and Kindjals are useful in the early game.

I know that. I use them (doesn't everyone?) in the early game. But even late in the game, Kindjal Infantry have their uses.

You don't honestly think I send them out into the field where they can get shot do you? Assume nothing. Question everything. I never said where they would be, I just said that they would still be useful later in the game. If you've played online, you could probably guess where they would be late in the game. Can you guess? ;)

No, because in the late games online, i don't see much infantry except Sardaukar and Fremens.

Or sometimes some troopers or kindjals in the base against NIAB's.

Ahh good, you got it. I keep my Kindjal in my base to keep NAIBs roasted when they come in. But if you could see my Kindjal in my base, then I'm not doing a very good job of protecting my base am I?

And even then. If I have kindjal in my base, and you see them, you won't send NIAB's (?) And that's a good point for me. This counts also for Spice Fields. (Also protected by Mino's for other anti-infantery long-range units

Ok, but you can put the Mino's that much away from your kindjal, that the Inkvine can't attack them without coming in the range of the Mino's. And for Inkvine's you always need an active defense.

My base will be harder to scout after the first 5 minutes of the game. But later in the game, it won't matter if you scout my base, so long as you don't see what I'm doing in the beginning... 8)

Well thats when my missiles are useful, and later on.....my Inkvine would be even more useful.

Umm, he said that your Missile Tanks would not make it to his Minos with a good defence in place. Therefore, your Missile Tanks would get crushed without support, and his Minos would escape without a scratch. I think you need to comprehend what he's saying more clearly... ::)
