Well, translators do strange things. You don't want to know how they translated Fremen in dutch. That's why I mostly read books in their original language (if I can read that language)

But I think it's really a fantasy name

Well "Dune" was translated in Lithuanian to a word that means " Sand by the sea " lol ;D

In Norway Dune is called Sand, which means sand
