IxianMace
That may be true, but it can mean the difference between losing your entire rush force, or actually getting a slight grip on the enemy base early in the game, which could shift things in your favour. Remember one of the Harkonnen sayings? "A badly damaged unit is better than a dead one." ;)
Edric O
You've got a point there. But I think that because the difference is so small, in a Buzzsaw vs Dust Scout fight, whoever gets the first shot wins (unless the Buzzsaw is aligned, of course). Gobalopper
I would rather have a dead unit then an almost dead unit when a Leech is around. ;)
IxianMace
I would rather have a dead unit then an almost dead unit when a Leech is around. ;) It wouldn't matter with Buzzsaws, because they can't be infected with leech larvae.
Devastator_Mech
Yes, but unless the Buzzsaw is perfectly aligned to shoot both guns, it has the same firepower as the Dust Scout... which is bad news for the Buzzsaw.Well no, you could specifically order it to attack a units then it'll use both its guns and kill the victim twice as fast. And self-repair will virtually make no difference during a battle and a Dust Scout could easily be destroyed by a Buzzsaw.
Timenn
I really doubt that, selfhealing goes very quick, especially with such a low health class. And A Buzzsaw doesn't always use it's both guns when you order to attack
Devastator_Mech
I really doubt you, if it doesn't use both guns when you order it, then went does it? And you think how much will a Dust Scout could self-repair within 1 or 2 sec? I'll say not even enough to recover 1/4 of the Buzzsaw attack. Edric O
The Buzzsaw needs to be perfectly aligned to use both guns... and that is pretty rare, even if you order it to attack.
Devastator_Mech
If you specifically order, it'll do it itself.... and thats virtually always....
Edric O
No it won't. Believe me, I tried. If you select a group of Buzzsaws and give them an attack order, usually just one of them will align to fire both guns. You would need to select them each one by one and give them the order... Devastator_Mech
aren't we talking about 1v1 ?
Timenn
Edric is right, one Buzzsaw will align quite well, but not an entire group
Devastator_Mech
Well obviously not the entire group but if in groups of 2 or 3?
Edric O
Maybe in groups of 2, but it would be a pain to control them all like that...
Devastator_Mech
Not maybe, if controlled in even groups of 3, its a must they'll use both guns......
Timenn
Yes, but I don't know how many Buzzsaws you use in a rush, but for me it's about 21, what means 7 groups of Buzzsaws. And that's annoying to control
Devastator_Mech
Well, have i ever mention to anyone that i don't ever do early rushes?
Timenn
And you play Harkonnen? But well, you must admit that single Buzzsaws can't do much. Mostly for hunting some scouts. And what about when you attack my group of Dust Scouts, which are plotting to attack you, and you attack with 20 Buzzsaws for example.Don't bother about who wins, I only want to know how you attack precisely, and you don't have any more units yet
Devastator_Mech
Ok, it'll won't do much damage compared to other stronger units but does MORE damage than Dust Scouts and Sand Bikes.I have 20 buzzsaw and there's 20 Dust Scouts ONLY, right? If thats the case, i'll put 5 in a group, l'll rush the 1st & 2nd group directly towards it, 1 groups will attack from the left while the last will attack from the right. And then i'll keep on build more (but if its only 20vs20, buzzsaw will sure win!), but just incase more is coming.
Timenn
Before this you were talking about groups of 3 Buzzsaws...
Devastator_Mech
Yes, but if there's a group of 20 out there, you not gonna just use a group of 3, as you say,"its annoy to control".Sometimes you need to change your standards abit when the situation changes.
Timenn
Yes, but then the 2 firing cannons option will be almost not used anymore
Devastator_Mech
Well it's different when your attacking in groups, and most buzzsaw should use both their guns even in a group of 5.(not really a huge group at all)
Timenn
Not it will be the same story again, the Buzzsaws can't perfectly line, because they are in each others path. And you have to 'attack' a unit, otherwise you can be easily out-micromanaged
GhostHunter
Yeah when I was starting to rush and I heard the buzz's fire both there guns for the first couple of games I heard it because it was so rare I said " Dam skimmpy lag "
