Right. In the attachments is a picture, two in fact. The one on the left was scanned from a magazine, the one on the right is a screenshot. They both show rocks and sand; what I want to know is, as they are different, which is wrong? Does the magazine just show stuff that was changed later? Or has my game been wrong since I got it?

they're both correct (left sh is also viewable on the ww site)

the picture on the left is on arrakis, the picture on the right is on draconis IV the icy planet!

i think how he ment the build icons are different for the infantry buildings and units. and also how the radar map is different in both and how the icons under radr are different. on one the first is the wrench (repair) icon and in the other the first is the retrat (could be waypoint) flag. I noticed that too on the pics from WW site. but who knows the difference

i agree i was lookn at pics from a Emp fan site and was like "WTF?! which gmae is this!!! it looks like emp but i dont have those icons!!!" But i guess WW had a really good reason for changing them ;D

the one from the magazine is "zoomed" in. Yours is zoomed out.

The magazine has details etc on high, and i think yours is on low.

Further indeed small difference in icons, but the "new" ones looks much better..

A lot of stuff in early screenshots can be cut or changed. Screenshots are usually taken at high resolution with max settings and usually those are not normal gameplay settings for everyone.

Ahem... perhaps I didn't make myself clear. The shot on the right is what terrain looks like. Always. On dune it is orange, on Geidi Prime it is red, on Caladan it is green with blue dips for water, and on Draconis IV, it is that cyanish colour. Yet in the picture from the magazine there are high detail rocks and the buildable area looks completely different from the sand. This is not the case in my game, even with display settings to maximum performance. Everything on the ground looks the same other than ice or water, and spice, obviously. All the shapes, infantry rock, those shapes on Geidi Prime, impassable rock... it just the colour of the surrounding sand/grass/oil/ice. OK?

Duke Leeeto was a famous person from the old WW forums. He was always whining about stuff and that he was losing games etc... (although he wasn't to bad, and he would probably be emperor by now)

Nobody heared from him anymore when he was kicked out of the house...

We all fell sorry for him :-
