An attempt to reason with Nav...

I just read a great topic posted by Repoman in the Emperor forum and saw how Nav is beginning to destroy it, just like he does with so many other topics... I didn't want to add to the problem by answering him there, so I'm starting this thread. This is NOT a thread for flaming Nav. This is for reasonable arguments and trying to convince him to change his ways or leave. NO FLAMES.

Nav, if the bugs are so horrible, why do you keep playing the game? You would do everyone a favor by leaving. Look around you and show me a single member of the community who doesn't hate you or at least dislikes you. You have no friends here. You are a pain in the side of the community. Nobody wants you here. LEAVE.

He is the person you don't wanne be, or be seen with. But he is also a proof that with a big mouth etc, you anyway get followers (see the members in the TCF clan).

His reasoning is not reasoning but selfishness, not a team player and egoistic.

He will be the first to point somebody on all the mistakes somebody makes, while he himself has thousends of mistakes which he will never admit.

He must have a very low self asteem, although he will never ever admit it.

It remind me of those guys: I am better then you, but i won't play you because you cheat ;D

This is the first time I have said this but... I have never seen you marcel... Anyways, who needs teem players? teem players are annoying suck ups. You need some spice in a bland forum. Everybody seems to be floating towards this politically correct, love everybody and the world crap. Frankly thats bull. Naveros can be annoying but we all can be. At least narveros is obvious about it. most people on this forum hide it with "goodness".

I myself is annoyed and pissed off by Navs eternal whining, he thinks that everyone is cheating and yet it seems as he tend to play the easiest games to score high points. I believe his first post was a complaint about the manual and how the commands wern't in there (or at least some). He aksed for a detailed explanation ..

About Nav.. You may think what you want, complain what you want, but I doubt it does any good. It probably result in a flame war (eventhough it wasn't EdricO's intention).

Like I always say, don't like him, ignore him. I stopped reacting to his "whining", but do answer him if he wants help and asks me on MSN.

In reply to the topic subject, you can't change Nav in his way of thinking or acting, so just ignore it if you don't like it.. works best ;)

just my opinion on the matter. i allways love giving opinions as you all knowNav doesn't "get" the concept of stratety games. He may not know it, but he feels that if he practices a technique long enough that it should work. He doesn't "get" adaptation. Or if he does now then he didn't for a long time (i haven't played him in a long time). I first came to this conclusion after seeing multiple posts on bugs, while also observing posts he made on the tatics others would use. Whenever he has someone use a tatic on him that is unusual or shouldn't work, but does, he gets upset. Every time he has a bug ruin his plan he gets upset. THerefore the whole Nav nagging issue boils down to the fact that he either doesnt' have the intuition necessary to learn from mistakes relatively soon, or that he just likes to vent whenever his plans go south.I personally had multiple events where i got frustrated, and in alot of cases refused to believe that a tatic was fair, or a bug could be adapted to. In those cases, yes, i vented and got upset, among myself, not in forum. The difference between Nag and others is that others subliminially, or conciously try to learn from those mistakes (regardless of telling yourself over and over that you just got f$ucked). Nag doesn't, or at least it takes him alot longer to learn than others. As a result he posts, and posts, and posts, venting, and refusing all belief that the situation could be turned to his advantage when he learns enoughThis posting that he does when he gets frustrated eventually frustrates others cause we try to help him but it's like trying to teach calculas to a dog, the dog can't listen no matter how hard you try, and therefore won't learnSo in essance Nyar is correct, if you give up on trying to teach Nag you realize that he's just trolling with "vent my frustration on you guys" posts, and that he really doesn't have too many enlightening threadsThat being said, i'm sure the guy is a nice guy, and probably fun to play with as long as he wins, but if he looses and you take the time to show him why you'll wind up being more frustrated than him. And that invariably winds up sucking all the fun outa the game. Therefore just ignore him and enjoy your game with others.

Well, I won't comment on that. I'm just wondering who's in the TCF clan? I know of harry potter, and he can play quite well...impressive from when I teamed with him.

Nav. Yes he does complain, but he does point out most of the bugs so you can avoid them. Sometimes he posts links to programs for people to dl. Plus he is a target for emptying forum aggression and doesn't whine too much about being picked on.

Well, Ordos45, I think that's the only thing I like about Nav (doesn't whine about being picked on). ;D

Basically, I agree with Frodo. Nav wants everything to be clockwork, with NO unpredictable reactions. He wants his opponents to be computers, not humans. And he thinks his tactic *should* be unstoppable, otherwise the game is unfair. ::)
