FunkyFr3sh
dune2000.cfg = abandoned The new settings file is much easier to edit, all you need is a text editor like the standard windows notepad. Many new cool things will be added to this file soon (e.g. no-cd patch on/off) Of course we gonna need a nice config tool to edit this file too (not sure when im going to do that :D ) Test file: http://www54.zippyshare.com/v/78207005/file.html - To change your hotkeys visit this site: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/dd375731(v=vs.85).aspxtake the hex number (e.g. 0x46 - F key) and convert it to dec here: http://www.binaryhexconverter.com/hex-to-decimal-converter Here is how it looks currently: [MultiPlayer]FirstTimePlay=NoUnitCount=10TechLevel=7StartingCredits=7000AIPlayers=0Crates=NoWorms=0PlayerName=NONAMEPlayerSide=0PlayerColor=0IPAddress=ModemPhone=SerialComPort=1[Options]ScrollRate=20GameSpeed=75GameBitsPerPixel=16SFXVolume=100MusicVolume=100[WOL]AllowFindUser=YesAllowPageUser=YesLanguageFilter=NoShowAllGames=NoMicrophone=No[Hotkeys]SelectAllUnits=69Scatter=88CenterNextUnit=78Repair=84Sell=89Guard=71CenterBase=72Stop=83Bookmark1=120Bookmark2=121Bookmark3=122Bookmark4=123SidebarUp=38SidebarDown=40Alliance=65Retreat=82OptionsMenu=27Team1=49Team2=50Team3=51Team4=52Team5=53Team6=54Team7=55Team8=56Team9=57Team10=48CTRL=17ALT=18SHIFT=16PrivateChat1=112PrivateChat2=113PrivateChat3=114PrivateChat4=115PrivateChat5=116PublicChat=117WOLPageReply=119WOLProposeDraw=68CenterSelectedUnits=36
Adriano
And what if... to think about multi-platform now? :)It will be GREAT to make Dune2000 for Linux Ubuntu ! Free software and so on...

Free software and so on...We are nowhere near having the ability to port the game, even with the substantial progress that funky has made. athanasios
Wine does the job pretty fine for now.-What about a settings button inside the game itself?
Nyerguds
ugh, funky, separate your ini sections with empty lines! :P

FunkyFr3sh
Wine does the job pretty fine for now.-What about a settings button inside the game itself?Would be too much work i guess and no fun doing it :D an external config will do the job, might be added to the game launcher later ugh, funky, separate your ini sections with empty lines! :Pusing winapi, do you have a C version of Nyerguds.ini so i can move to that one ? :D ... A few new settings have been added:"MultiPlayer", "PlayerHandicap""Options", "MoviesEnabled"("Options", "SoundsEnabled""Options", "SkipIntro""Options", "VideoBackBuffer""Options", "DebugMode""Options", "ForceNoCD" there is also a new param "-window" to run the game in window mode (this is more for testing reasons, it wont work that well) test file http://www54.zippyshare.com/v/78207005/file.html
D2k Sardaukar
Nice addition! Window mode does indeed not work good, but it is workable in 16bit mode (videocard set at 16bit). If I remember correctly.
FunkyFr3sh
yea, its pretty nice for debugging tho :D i use it all the time
Nyerguds
using winapi, do you have a C version of Nyerguds.ini so i can move to that one ? :D...no... but feel free to convert it? :P Or copy the ini functions from RA1 :P
D2k Sardaukar
ugh, funky, separate your ini sections with empty lines! :PI support this. +1 :) Edit: Is it perhaps also possible to add some sort of SuperDebugMode where you add all the debug from window mode but dump the real window thing. FunkyFr3sh
yes, i already added one feature from window mode to fullscreen :D there are also other special features, in window mode you can see small numbers next to the units (seems to be something like the order of the units Guard/attack etc) and another thing i noticed was the additional info when you hover over a unit :D maybe there is more cool stuff but i didnt look through everything now

Only problem with this method is that it speeds up the game massively. This faster speed must have been for AI testing.

D2k Sardaukar
You can use/test it with the d2kx tool: http://forum.dune2k.com/topic/26507-release-d2kx/ It's called the 'Debug Basic' (under basic addresses) and all you need to do is add two 'trigger on keys' keys with one on 0 and other on 1 (normal mode) with of course as memory address 'Debug Basic'. FunkyFr3sh
yes i noticed that too, you can clearly see they been using window mode for such debugging tests :D

FunkyFr3sh
it will be created automatically if you use my patch, just run the game once and close it to generate the file :)
