the best unit for base defence would be the devastater, aa + powerfull plasma guns, and good re-load time BUT its vulnerable to infantry and longer ranged units.

it should be protecting the hart of ur base.

all you really need is either a devesator with adp and flame infantry

Sonic tank with mongeese and sniper

al you need is a few sonics and a few repeaire vehicles and they wil take out almost EVERY harkonen unit.

Hmm, the only real danger then is the Launcher, for tanks then. Infantery is a more serious problem...

you think so? i just played a skirmision (single player) on hard i made 1 sonic tank and 2 repair vehicles and i won from the harkonen!!! (hard level)

You've forgotten use of Gunships, quite powerful against tanks. Three or more planes will take out even repaired Sonic tank easily. But also it's question of airdrones.

its a question of speed, what would you do if i was with a sonic tank in your base with 2 repair vehicles?

would you wait till you have gunships?

would you send an al out assault so that my sonic can get ranks?

would you just quit game?

Let me see.... I killed the com with one devastator and he had 3 bars.  On hard mode.

And like timenn says, you ever used one sonic tank on the human player before?

The chance is more likely they will circle your sonic tank around with buzzsaws and take care of your repair verhics.

Trooper's can destroy the repair verhicle's. And just run away so they can attack again.  ;D

Against the com. Alot of Super unit's can take out the com by itself. But against the Human player its a another job.

its in a group so you wil still suffer damage, AND who told you that my sonic was in the middle of your base?

The problem with sonic is that even it can kill two vehicles at one shot, it haven`t good health. And for what sending group of assaults or buzzsaw against it, when it can be sent long range one. Sonic in base can be take by missile and repair by assaults.

Buzzsaws = Instant hit weapon

Sonic tank = Momentum projectile.

It can only cause damage if it hits the target.

Ok guys i think that best strategy for atreides are to make lotsa minos and kindjal for def and select  fremen and sardaukar as ally then build 10 apc and put feydakin and sard commander in then build transport and drop em into enemy base...it works well for me... :-/ so thats it hope you like and if you dont well...dont use it haha

why dont you make the fedykin and sardaukars attack a frontal assult and load enginneers into the apcs?

Hmm, putting Fremen/Sardaukar in APC's is not so wise, I think. APC's are more vulnerable, and you won't get your units when the APC is destroyed...

Its good make a lot of mangooses and few minos and send them against Harkonnen with Fedaykin or Sards elites...but not in APC`s :-/

the only real purpose for the ordos apc is to transport slow units to a location quickly or to hold on to and protect engineers.

for atreidies, you only use the stealth to move inch by inch to the enemy's base and filling it with either strong infantry or engineers. well...that and to snipe down some lone enemy infantry.
