Should we bring back the "old look" FED2k site?

It is definitely possible to skin the site within certain boundaries of course. The template starts with an "index.html" file that looks like this:

It would be possible to override the layout templates to create a new "theme" however I'm not going to start allowing people to change the templates of individual pages. I am also not going to approve new themes if I don't like them. You can vote all you like though. ;)

I strongly dislike the idea of copying another sites layout.

Not directly copying, just the basic layout.  So you'd take the current layout, stick a logo and banner above everything else, last 5 forum posts in there somewhere, and I'd like other features in there, like forthcoming release dates of Dune things on the main page, like on the old layout.

Why even copy the basic layout when we have a very good old site design already?

Ok, I set this poll to close in June, which it did. There is clear majority support to bring back the old site layout, but Gob doesn't seem to like the idea... maybe we could convince him to at least allow us to switch between site themes/layouts?

What say you, O Mighty Gob? ;D
