I have read the entire dune series recently and there is no mention of a house ordos in them. Why was it decided to add third house.

I'm not complaining . If it weren't for dune 2 I would have never read the books, I'm just interested

I also loved the designs of the stillsuits/armor in dune 2.

Why fall back on the movies weird glowing facemask design?

Well I can answer the second question, Westwood has the movie licence so things look/follow the movie more then the novels.

Here are a couple other quetsions.

Was there ever any plan to add a multiplayer mode into the game or would that have required too much of an overhaul of the engine?

In your view what game was more innovative, Dune II or the original Command & Conquer?

How did you come up with the idea to make an RTS game based in the Dune Universe and what other games influenced you?

When was the last time you played Dune II? :)

I can answer feyd's question.

The Harkonnen's insignia in the Dune Encyclopedia is a Ram's head -  "White a ram's head caboshed guardant azure."

Same for the Atreides' "falcon", and the Ordos' snake (which is House Wallach's insignia ... Ordos' bone insignia was prolly not cool enough  :) )

Yes but in reality from the books....The Harkonnen House insignia is the griffin and the Atreides is not falcon but hawk

I agree... ;D

I have to tell you, that Frank Herbert never used the Dune Encyclopedia because he used his own imagination to create the characters and other stuff in his Duniverse! (For some people the Encyclopedia became 'apocryphal' because it contained info which didn't match FH's version.)
