different names???

Is there any difference between the dune II games with the different names (building of a dynasty, building of an empire, battle for arrakis)??

I've never seen different versions of Dune II.

I own a leagal copy of Dune II on CD, it's "the building of a dynasty". The copy I got was the same. Don't know the others you've mentioned. :)

I have it on disk but one of my disks got corrupted. :(

There was a Dune II for the Amiga which is the same thing as the PC version I think and one for the sega which was somewhat the same but had different graphics.

My friend owns a legit copy of Dune 2 and it was called "Battle for Arrakis"

I've seen building of a destiny, and i've been told about beilding of an empire.

I dunno though. I thought that they might be slightly different, but if no-one has heard about them then, what can you do...

I think there are slightly different versions. I don't have hospitals, but apparantly some do. And I've heard of someone playing DII in multiplayer as well. (I have Battle for Arrakis).

I just found out the story behind the dofferent names:

Dune II version 1.0   :  The building of a Dynasty

Dune II version 1.07 :  The battle for Arrakis

I dunno why westwood changed it to 'battle for arrakis' in the 1.07 upgrade...

Ah... I know I have 1.07 (BFA), so this seems correct.

the only battle for arrakis i have encountered is for the sega 16 bit console with lame graphics

but everyone says that ai is better in dynasti
