i like the article very much  :)

although they commented like every single game of the c&c series (even tiberium sun wich sucked and wasn't innovative at all, it was also complete unbalanced because single player was their main goal) and they didn't even speak of the anno or the earth series (whatever they're called, never played them but i have read some interesting reviews about them).

They should have also put Z between the article, a very refreshing pretty old RTS with a completely unique gameplay...

and maybe savage... mix between FPS n RTS... it's nice to see that RTS is used in combination with other genres

and Warcraft II, together with the first command & conquer one of the main RTS games that started the competition between blizzard & westwood.

For ebfd... they mention gameplay improvements about the game because they compare it to dune2, but in fact they should compare it to dune2000.

and they talk about to many shit games that didn't change anything in the RTS world... fe art of war and cnc generals (sorry 'bout the fans  :P)

but i like the article very much.. it's very complete and informative.. learned allot about my favourite genre :)

quote from  ebfd faq:The Dune franchise is near and dear to Westwood's heart. It was with the first game in this series, Dune II, that Westwood pioneered the real-time strategy (RTS) genre

quote from a game web site preview on ebfd:  ebfd bring gamers back to arakies, land of the sand and home of spice and the first ever rts title.

this is when you make history man:

THE FIRST EVER RTS TITLE..  i mean dune gave birth to the hole genre..

all i can say is d2k was good for the sound effects when enemy infantry got squished when they ran up to attack your harv... i loved those fresh crunching splurting noises haha..GOLD!!

ordos ruled for the mass light tank spam inf hunting---even tho they sucked at everything else..

d2/d2k = hark ftw!

man forget about schorpy. i admit his a talented player but he talks a lot and with non sense.

am sorry schorrpy for saying that about you man, but dune2000 was a legend...

i loved the ai in dune2000 it really makes a good player out of u not like emp..

i remember in campain  when the harcks attacks u from the 1 min,, they keep attacking

and attacking like crazy .. i used to put speed on lowest and just try to kill them unit by unit

and tank by tank..

i remember the screen turning to green color when ordos attacks. u dont have this in emp.

I agree on the fact that dune2000 sucked... and I also think this might be a reason why a lot of rts gamers didn't even try emp (like a friend of mine e.g.) because they say: "another dune? I don't wanna see it"

The only problem with dune 2000 was that i felt like i was playing C&C, I'd still play it.  I'd play any dune game, if it wasn't for dune2 I wouldn't have even played the genre.  I'd still be a doom fanatic, crushing people in the fps line of games.  (Not that  i don't play fps games).  I wonder what will become of dune, now that EA holds westwood in their horrid grasp.

Well I am not sure, as I played Tiddlywinks  when I was little, and Dune2k as an adult, and didnt like Dune2k much, but remember not disliking Tiddlywinks  :-[

If a game is good is ur own opinion. imo dune2000 sucks, i'm not telling no-sense, but i'm saying my own opinion about it.

and if dune2000 was really a legend, this was never happened:

Total annihilation shits on Dune2000 so much it hurts, and came out a whole year before.

Honestly, how did WW think they could get away with just throwing in the old RA engine and making it Duney -- the engine was already two years old by then.

It's just a sloppy, lazily put-together game.

Well if i like Red Alert does that make me a noob?

If i liked Dune2000 Does that make me Retarded?

So what if Dune2k was really, RED ALERT:DESERT CONFLICT.

Honestly and most might not agree, The funnest RTS I've played recently Is Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War. I think the unit's Melee combat, fear factor, and sheer firepower leaves every other rts behind.

I've played almost every RTS made

From Westwood, Microsoft, Relic, Blizzard

I've even played lesser heard ones like:

Imperium Galactica (Which in my opinion is one of the best ones out there lost to time)

KKND

Blitzkrieg

If i liked to run around in Dune2k because the game amused me, who cares?
