I am meeting the godsaved Queen!

Long story short, Queen Elizabeth II is coming to Latvia and I'm going to be one out of 40 kids to meet her. Which one of you can say you met the Queen of England?! :D

Well, I know that Dante won't care, but I want to brag. :P

I want her to remember me, though - I don't want to be just another face. I'll try to initiate a conversation with her -maybe I'll say something like "Excuse me, Your Majesty, but I have a feeling me meeting you is a bit pointless. O course, not manyu people can say that they have met the Queen, but I'm just another face, aren't I?" Something like that.

She's really tiny in person. Nothing wrong with that, it just isn't something that comes across that much from the telly.

She does have a very good memory for names and faces, mind.

If you are lucky you'll be briefed with some protocol how to behave restricting you from asking those questions ;) If not on the other hand and you can ask her something. Tell her I am sorry and it was just a joke calling a bomb threath to BP in London a few months back. I'll bet she remembers me then :P

btw. If Edric responds to this topic ignore him. I bet he wants you to kill the monarch. :P ;)

Haha, Gryphon. :P And I heard some rules already - don't talk to her unless she asks you a question, don't turn your back on her, and "by God, don't EVER try to touch her!" :D

Good thing that I put the idea of clasping her hand out of my head. ;)

A friend of mine was hoping to convince the Duke of Edinburgh to, ah... hire Liz out for a night.

Princess Anne visited my daughters primary school yesterday, they were both chuffed to bits because they got to see a proper princess.

It amazing all this week in preparation the grass and hedges around the estate have been cut and trimmed. Numerous graffiti removal vans have been round and road sweeping vehicle's. and all the boarded up house were re windowed.

No wonder these people are out of touch with reality a lot of the time.

You will only be a mere member of the entourage trailing her wherever she goes. She'll probably talk to two or three children in the group, then spend an hour with you kiddies touring the attractions of Riga before going off to perform much more important duties like meeting Latvian governmental officials. Hey, at least you get to see her in person.
