Moving out when you are 18? O RLY?

This world is quite screwed up in the first place. Let's just rebuild this world together, okay?

Oops nevermind ;D

Why is 18 the age for moving out anyway?

because in most countries you attain full age with 18 and are free to do everything without your parents permission needed. also your parents now could throw you out of the house if they like to.

Heheh, not here. You can't do anything without your parents permission, its against custom, besides, why would you? They know more, they've made most of the mistakes we're liable to, they've got all the advice, so why'd you want to go against them?

Ya Think? It works both ways, you know, and I tell you, a strong support system at home is way better than living alone, any day. But hey, different cultures, different mindsets, so we're both right  ;)

trust me, you don't wanna live in germany. switzerland is a good choice, I also keep looking for jobs over there from time to time. my half-sister's father (would be my stepfather then) lives and works there. it's really nice. sweden and denmark I don't know as well as austria. spain and portugal are nice countries it's much warmer of course but they also have high unemployment rates (at least portugal). but maybe if you work in a field in which people are needed this might look different.

Aha. Well I didn't choose Germany because of economic reasons. I chose it because I like Germany as country and I think it's a beautiful country in its own right. But I studied informatics and looking at the current situation, who knows. Right now there's a lot of work in this sector. Someday, when me and my girlfriend want to move, we might try to find a job and a house in Germany. Or any of the other countries.

yeah that's actually quite funny. I also met a lot of americans in my holidays who have never left their own country. they travel inside the country and go on vacation but they haven't been to some place else in the world. that's really cool in europe. you can travel between the different countries very easily  :)

Well, to be honest each state in the US is geographically (and culturally, in some cases) each similar to a different country. Hell, some states are bigger than some countries in Europe. But truth be told, I've never left US. I plan to go to France and England one summer to visit WWII sites and , well clubs lol. Historical reinactments by day, alcoholic endeavors by night.

I'm actually in the process of moving out of my apartment into a house. Second abode outside of my parents'. My apartment's probably going to charge me up the ass for things that are bs, but I'm glad to leave this place. $150 dollars for a door replacement that's f*ing hollow plywood sh*t? Please, I'll buy it at Wal-mart to save you the trouble ($15 :P)
