er, the University of Manchester. I was wodnering what's their reputation, and if their school of engineering is pretty good. I either want to double major in aeronautical engineering and political science or politics & international relations, aeronautical engineering and materials science, or psychiatry (I know, the last one is not really pertinent ot the others). Thanks though!

Bristol is better for what you want to do. I have a friend doing Aeronautical Engineering there, and you can work placements with BAe which is one of the biggest Defence Contractors in the world.  I might do International Relations with French there.

You might also want to look into Heriot Watt. Good place for sciences, not sure how their engineering works out. Since we folks north of the border get our fees paid for us if we stay here, I spent about two seconds looking at universities outside of Scotland. Ergo, I can't really help. Sorry. There was one up here that was supposed to specialise in engineering, but I can't for the life of me remember which one it was, other than that it wasn't in one of the major cities... Falkirk?

Its not Falkirk.  Glasgow University is pretty damn good for Electronics.  Especially Electrical Engineering.

Do Manchester do offer those courses as a joint degree?

Bear in mind that British universities are very different - you more often do a single subject, far more focused.

So generally, Economics students will have a maths course (but not the same as anyone else's maths courses), but no English courses, and their history courses will be very specialised.

Is this the BAe based at Filton?

I don't really know about reputations within Engineering degrees, though.

Are you more a materials science person or an electronics person or what?

Glasgow has a good nightlife but is cold, quite wet and full of nutters, but they're all nice really. Manchester is becoming quite a chavy area to live but still is quite good for nightlife, pretty cold there in the winter as well. Not sure 'bout southampton but am sure Kiyouta'll let ya know.

In Manchester you can do Politics and International Relations, Pyschology, and Aerospace Engineering. I have acquired a prospectus if you are interested in any more details.

It's kinda cold here atm, but it's winter so suck it up. Much colder in London. I'd expect It'd be even colder in Manchester. Southampton has nice bars, pubs and so forth, a few trendy night clubs - cheesey music is the norm I'm afraid. Nice town though, got everything ya need. Very close to London (1 hour, 5 minute train journey). Depends on the subject field you want to do. Since you are an international student you should go to a Uni which specialised in your course. Southampton is one of the best for Electronics and Computer Science, and so a lot of International students come here for that.

The piss poor attitude to religious tolerance is actually felt all over the city, and is less to do with religion nowadays.
