So kids who play games are healthier than those who don't? Well I gotta say I grew up basically with no video games. First video game I played at home was Pong(I know I'm dating myself). After that was Atari 2600. The difference was that back then we only played occasionally. Our lives as kids didn't revolve around video games as they seem to today. It was something we did after it got dark and we had to come inside. Yea I know I'm older than alot of guys around here. But there's something wrong when a 40 yr old man can out run his 16 yr old son(no lie). And you have the balls to say that games make kids healthier? That's total B.S. All it does is make them lethargic and over weight. And where do they develop they necessary people skills to interact out in the real world if they are constantly playing video games? Do any of you beleive you interact online typing the same way you do at work face to face? Doubtful at best. Now if you would like to say something along the lines of competition I may reconsider. I firmly beleive a healthy cometitive spirit is needed. Those who lack it tend to be left behind in almost any venture.

Bottom line is Rostok and me have the same opinion...

no des u got it all rong man, i didnt mean playe pc games.. i mean playe ,like playing any games.

like cards chess board games. or even playe in the street , just playing, all peapol small and old needs to playe, playing is a sport either phisical games or mental. like when u playe scrabble u train ure english skilles. thats mental sport coz its not studying. and pearl again i will say this last time. am talking about mental sport not budy sport so soccer has nothing to do with it

and kids who have bad parents or live in bad places that make them study/work all time and they dont let them playe they grow up with mental and phsical problems and they feel they did live there childhood

right now i am making a game cd for my syster kids. all just small games for kids and funny cartoons and educational games, i see them laughing and dancing from joy just when they start up

there pc at home after dinner and home work just to playe for an hour or too.

do u think i am hurting them??? those funny games are fast and fun and educational. and its a way to release energy and stress. so they are full of action and movment and a good mental sporty way to have fun.

I never said I thought emp was bad for u. I'm just saying it isn't a sport. I also said I think we all need some healthy competition. IMO u just gotta take the game for what it is. A game that's fun and lets you have some fun. Just nothing I would personally classify as a sport.

1_ there is a group including me think mind sports exisit. and playing in general is a type of spiratual sport

2_ there is a group think sport is only at the staduim

3_ there a group who hates the word sport so mutch and dont like to hear it even thou they like gaming but they dont want to hear the word sport coz it make them nurvise.

  so eatch on of us can stop trying to convince the other and we can just channel our selfs in those 3 categoryes.

Well there is also a group-4 that knows the difference between reality and fantasy. For me gaming is nothing more than escaping boredom for a few or more hours, and playing with some friends. Either that or using it as a good stress reliever, e.g, blowing the crap out of stuff in a FPS. Either way, it's not a sport and never will be. If it were I should have mega endorsements, and a crapload of cash by now.  :D

For me Football ( soccer to you wierdos) is nothing more then a quick kick down the park, a few run arounds until I get tired, but that doesnt equate to it not being a sport.

There are endorsments and ....some cash :P but not for people like us, for hardcore gamers, professional gamers.

- gaming in a professional way (!!) is a sport and is already defined so by many people, sponsors or organisators of competitions

- there are e-sport association out there that don't organize competitions or anything but just do the talking stuff, like labour unions or kind of this

- national teams exists for many countries for esports (mainly for "the" teamgame counter-strike)

- if the scene continues to develop like it did the last few years it's only a matter of time until some games might become an olympic discipline

- to most of you e-sport might not be sport but as the name says it's ELECTRONIC SPORT. and of course it's nothing you get big muscles with. but seriously: play the finals for 50.000$ with your team and it depends on the last round who gets the money and you will see this far more exhausting than 30 minutes football in the park with your friends. man, it even was exhausting for me to play on tournaments with my team for some lousy hardware (which was much for me back then)... so I don't want to play a game where my team could lose alot of money and fame and sponsorships because we (or worse: I) didn't pay attention for 5 seconds or something like this.

Most of you guys know I was out of work for quite some time. Well things are taking off at my new job and I'm putting in alot of hours. I still play, just not on weekends anymore.

Spice as far as on a daily basis I would say there is nothing violent about my life. Including Emp. If you think Emp is violent than you really have led a sheltered life.

Well when time permits I play basketball at the Y. I also play football(not soccer) whenever we can get a game together.
