"Our great country is in a terrible downward spiral. We're losing jobs, losing benefits, and losing lives. We need to focus on what's important-- paying attention to our children, our environment, our future. We need to think about improving our underbudget educational system, making better use of our resources, and helping to build a stable, safe, and tolerant global society. It's time to be smart about our politics. It's time to get America back on track."

"Actor Christopher Walken to run as Candidate in 2008 Presidential Race

For Immediate Release

New York - Early today, actor Christopher Walken, 62, held a private conference at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York in which he announced his intentions to run for the Presidency of the United States in the 2008 Election.

A fine actor, but I doubt he's cut out for it. He says he's "a follower of politics"...so am I, does that make me fit to run a country?

The fact that he's running as an independent reduces his chances to nothing. I wonder what got into him ???

"An Actor President".....  Naturally Ronald Regan first comes to mind.

But, since a billionare cannot win as an independen (Ross Perot) then he has less of a chance than Ralph Nadar.

To quote Wikipedia on the only thing I really liked about Perot:

Just prior to the 1979 Iranian Revolution, the government of Iran imprisoned two of his employees in a contract dispute. Perot organized and sponsored a successful rescue. The rescue team was led by retired U.S. Army Special Forces Colonel Arthur D. ('Bull') Simons. When the team couldn't find a way to extract their two prisoners, they decided to wait for a mob of pro-Ayatollah revolutionaries to storm the jail and free all 10,000 inmates, many of whom were political prisoners. The two prisoners then connected with the rescue team, and the team spirited them out of Iran via a risky border crossing into Turkey. The exploit was recounted in a book, On Wings of Eagles by Ken Follett, which became a best-seller.

Don't get me wrong; there are many things I think Perot would have done/changed for the better.  But I think that Walken has about the same chance, Statistically, as Arnold has.  Zero  (Arnold isn't a natural born US citizen so therefore he has zero chance of being elected).  IMHO No independent has a chance.  Anyone running as a Democrat or Republican has a chance.  Perot at least had an unlimited campaign budget...  and to have any chance - that would be a prereq to running as an independent

Christopher Walken is The Man.

Actually, no, scratch that.  Christopher Walken is not just The Man he is THE MAN.

He is the very definition of THE MAN.

All other The Man's grovel before him.

When you tell someone that they are The Man they are such only because they are not being compared to the incontestable, irrefrutable, irrefragable, unanswerable greatness that is Christopher Walken.

Only a very select samples of the highest members of the male hierarchy can challenge Christopher Walken for his position as THE MAN.  Men such as Sean Connery and William Shatner.  They, arguably, equal his much vaunted MANNESS, but they represent different apexes of masculinity.

When it comes to sheer creepiness, sheer petrefication-inducing terror, no other being on earth can match The Christopher Walken.

His closest competitor is Brad Dourif.  But Brad Dourif simply does not have the same passion for dance as THE MAN Christopher Walken.

Christopher Walken exudes badassedness.

Rock on, Chris.  Rock on.

Don't make me tell you about the schooching again.

I respect the man greatly, but I'm weary to how much of a politician he will bring with him (since he declares immunity to PACs and special interest groups).

Well, actually it got lots of people. It wasn't a hoax to set up people at this forum, everyone thought it to be true, although the link I provided (via FARK) states that it is a hoax.
