Proof that games can be bad for our children

Simply put, this has nothing to do with the game itself, other than it's what occupied that sad individual in his 50 hour lapse of sanity.  It could have quite easily been a movie-marathon, or watching every single episode of "Friends" in one stretch.

It's just another example of the media trying to pin this one case on the video games industry.  "DEAR GOD!  One person out of the MILLIONS of people that play games worldwide was mentally unstable enough to play a game for 50 HOURS!  Instead of simply dismissing him as a lunatic, let's blame the GAMES INDUSTRY!" ::)

Personally, I would be more worried about the people who ran the internet caf

Never thought about it like that... :O

I don't think it mentions in the article that it had something to do with Deep Vein Thrombosis (the thing that happens on planes :)) but you have to wonder if that had anything to do with it.  Did they autopsy him?

I think it's likely that it was just exhaustion, but you never know; with the media hype surrounding this entire area of debate, it would be typical of the news corporations to conveniently ignore the fact that it was sitting down that killed him. :D

exhaustion? what bullshit.... when i was in college i stayed up for 3 days straight studying for finals.. thats 72 hours.... and i WASNT having any fun... atleast he was having fun during his 49 hours... i think he had some other ailment... cause a 2 day video game binge is not insanity and its not rare... people play games for 2 days straight all the damn time and college students go for weeks without sleeping.

Something else caused his death.

I bet some other korean poisoned him cause he was hogging the computer.
