hello everyone im new here (just gving the heads up) ive been a long time dune fan since well the sega version but until recently i havent tried emporers and hoping to play it online soon and by the way awsome site to those who made and worked on it

Well im a fan of the games, havent read a books yet but heard they were good so i might check them out.  In my opening post i said havent played emperors when i meant to say had, i downloaded the 1.09 patch from here and well one of my friends told me about this site saying it was the best site for dune stuff. I dont really know how he found this place.

I, on the other hand, am not an "Elite player" and I never kick anyone. I am usually online Fri & Sat nights, USA eastern standard time, with my son (Crysknife) or my daughter (Ghanima) and my next door neighbor, Whistler. And anyone else who wants to play. So any time you see my host, come and play, We always have fun games.

Ohh, and don't forget to read the "Critical Info" thread. It's the fifth from the top. Download the XWIS tool, Type in RA's server address and your all set. See you on the sand  ;)

i only have one peiece of advice at the moment for you and any new(bies) players, just stick to the game and avoid the politics that may arise, unless you like that sort of thing that is :D then go for it..

well, i havent quite got online as of yet but when i do (soon) then it will probably be Lance_Leader (if the name is valid) but i had a problem to prevent from getting online now. 1 of my computers (my good one) wont play the game  :- i guess its because my video card is to new for it but i con only play it on my o-so-old one. so i hope to reselve the problem soon.

(my good comp has a AMD ATHLON processor 512 mb ram ATI RADEON 9200se video card , and i have windows service pack 2, net meeting, and share desktop programs which have been found to mess with hardware acceleration in some games. anyone know any other problem besides my video card being newer?)

I dont think it is because your graphics card is too new.

Lance, I don't think it's your vid. card. A lot of us run new hardware, with no problems. I'm running althon 3200, 1.5 gigs of ram, and a xfx g force 5700, which in performance, is right about the same as your radeon 9200, with no problems. There are a lot of knowlegable people in the community, just post in the emp. support section and they will help you get it sorted out.

I'm using new hardware too. The main problems I have with my game are with CD-reading, which even gets in the way of playing Red Alert 2. Surprisingly, the newer games don't have such a problem...

wow it was easy to fix that problem theres alrdy a fix in support. (i woulda checked earlier but didnt know u had a support must skimmed over it). Any way ill probably get online in 1-2 days after i get familiar with controls n such...again
