New spark for PC games

Recently, about a month ago I had built this new high-end computer that I've been waiting for all of my life. It's fast, reliable, basically a dream-come-true. Now, I need to use it to its fullest potential. I recently bought Unreal Tournament 2004 and that's a really fun game, and got it for 30 bucks somehow (it was shelved at 40). However, I am usually in the mood to sit back and play a RPG or something that I can enjoy the moment in, not have it go by along with 100 more in the minute alone like in Unreal. Any ideas? I'm looking towards Far Cry, saw good reviews, and possibly Neverwinter Nights since it is an RPG. I'm used to Xbox games so I do not know what's "up-to-date" in the PC area. Any comment is welcome.

RPGs? Wonderful. Dungeon Siege if you're not looking for anything more than pretty pictures, Knights of the Old Republic if you're more into plot than anything else. Morrowind is perhaps one of the best games I've ever played, but Neverwinters Nights (plus expansion packs! Never forget the expansion packs!) will always be the be-all and end-all. Neverwinter Nights, go for it.

*Thinks*

Moving away from RPGs, Age of Wonders: Shadow Magic is a good game, and lengthly. But do not by any means take this to mean boring. It's got everything, really. In fact, I would suggest you try it first. Before even the RPGs. AOW:SM is definately a great game for taking your time over a long while and really having a good time.

(Extra note: The game has two predecessors that are not necessary but do aid understanding of the plot. I'm not sure how you might deal with this. The best thing I can suggest is to play the game and then look up the history online, unless you wish to start at the beginning (the first game, Age of Wonders, is really very outdated now, but the second, Age of Wonders: The Wizard's Throne, is not).

Sorry I didn't bring this up before, but it would be a shame for you not to know the plot from the beginning).

I recall one called Dungeon Master. Expansive, tested my system to the extent of its graphics capabilities, and damned difficult.

I think you can find a good C-64 emulator called VICE that'll let you play it.

FarCry and Painkiller are fantastic FPS choices.  IN terms of RPG, Morrowind: Game of the Year Edition is NEVER a bad choice.  Enticing, fun, and thousands of options.  I own 2 cities, 3 castles, a levy of women, and many other things.  Fun stuff.
