shotguns are powerful weapons buddy. you get hit in the leg with one up close you can say good bye to your leg. its alot of pressure shooting little pellets out of it. if you ever see a shotguns close range effect you'll be amazed. thats why its cool in this game because they realize you cant hit someone with a shotgun who's all the way across from you.

Normal 12-gauge pump-action shotgun hasn't enough power to rip off whole leg (not foot!) about five metres away.

Shotguns are bruts......you get hit with one of those and you are done.....and a limb shot..say goodbye to the limb.....

SHOTGUNS ARE MADE TO XPLODE. they explode into little shells and stuff. those limbs will fly off. they are made to have a devestating effect. if you ever see hunters when they shoot a deer the deer can go reeling back to from a shot. deers wasy alot. now a human limb.... Depends on the legs... maybe it wont take off Arnold's  leg  but i am sure it would take off the leg of some skinny kid or lean built man.

And the guys in SOF2 arent gladiators.. they are regularly built men.. so yea... the shotguns could take off their legs.

lemme put it this way... if you can literally blow someone's head off with a shotgun.. or put a hole thru their ribcage.... i am sure the leg will come off just as easily.

It only takes 60lbs of pressure to break a bone ... i am sure a shotgun can generate that much force.

...not like Halo or quake where you get shot 50 times before dying.  Thats lame.

Anyways people who like SOF2 are people who like realism and real warfare... not super-mario jumping through the air shooting lasers like in UT2004... thats kiddy shit.

I think you don't understand me... I talk about skill. Skill ain't shooting poeple about 50 Times before they die. Skilled Quake-Gamers will kill you with 1-3 Shots... rockets, grenades, railgun, they even own you with a shotgun...

I can understand if you don't like the game because of the lack of realism... that's why I play Counter-Strike, if I want AKs and M4A1 Colts and Sniper Weapons and the whole stuff...

All I'm trying to say is that SOF2 is just a newbie game. Anyone who is good @ Quake or like me with CS will beat you easily. Maybe the game is fun... but it's no challenge. That's why the game became very boring for me after a short while :(

(Yes, I know DOOM3 is capable of much better graphics than that, but I decided to take "playability" over "uber-leet graphics".  My PC isn't exactly "top of the line" these days.  *sigh*)

And as for relism, I enjoy realism sometimes - that's why I have Delta Force and MOH (with a generous blood mod installed, naturally).  All that gore in SOF isn't terribly realistic either, although perhaps I won't rekindle that debate, so... :-X[attachment archived by Gobalopper]
