The Maker:New sides

well, you can't add them now on demand. But you can suggest some. As i want this game to be as 'big' yet as 'dune2ish' as possible. The code is easily extendible to add more sides. What suggestions do you have?

Well in D2TM there are 6 sides already, all the sides you can choose with DUNE 2.

The Fremen auto-control sandworms btw.

WHy not add some other, totally new Great Houses?  I mean, there were far more than just two or three, so why not utilize some thing no one has seen before?  That way, you'd have the freedom to make whatever kind of unit you want for them.

could you name a few? The engine lets me do anything i want practicly, so adding 10 new houses should be no problemo... just a lot of work :)

That's exactly what I mean.  Why use the same three houses every game has used, when you can introduce a whole lot of new stuff.  Dune is a rich and limitless universe, so why not utilize that?  I'm not saying add ten more Houses.  I mean one or two new ideas.

When I'm brainstorming for fiction pieces to neglect, I like to think up some neat new things to add to old concepts.  One of my non-existent stories, for example, features House DeLuna, controlled by a Dutchess-Elect (or Duke-Elect).  Here is an excerpt from my work:

Yes, it is.  That's one of those typos I make every time.  Similar to how I always spell weird with the i and e reversed (i.e. wierd).

For an idea you can actually use, maybe you could make a House that focuses on stealth and promoting underestimation.  They could have base defenses tdisguised as rocks, and soldiers who can bury themselves in the sand.  That kind of thing.

Why change the name of House Ordos? As I thought Stefan mentioned it, he said that people could make their own campaigns. The orginal Dune II campaign will stick to The Maker (that is very likely) and that campaign will have the classic 3 Houses in it.

So if you want to make a campaign without Ordos, and with House Richese, that won't be a problem I think...

The Guild should be impartial, as they can essentially destroy any House without a single physical blow.
