If you learn to play fast games and if you practise enough then you will be able of controlling ur units propely, that also means microing DURING a combat, it isnt easy, it requires skill but its not impossible and most ppl you kick out of your games can do this. Mircoing DURING a combat in a fast game requires more skill then in a slow game, in a slow game its easy and almost any1 can do becuz everything is slow, u have all the time of the world and in a slow game you can make mistakes and still fix them, while in real life a mistake in a combat is crucial. In a fast game you cannot afford to make mistakes otherwise you will lose. And players who play fast games have developed their skill to a level were they dont make lots of mistakes(everyone makes a mistake sometimes so..)

And to a level were they can react fast to a situation and make fast decisions.

Wenn you see an army coming to ur base in a slow game, you have lots of time to make a nice defence, if you know a bit about formations and how to counter wich unit it wont be hard, cuz you have time. But in a fast game you dont have much time, so you must do the steps you do in a slow game faster, wich requires more skill, u need to think faster, you need to, set a foramtions faster and you need to micro faster, if you can do this then u are a better player then some1 who does this in a slow game.

i agree.. it is easier to stop a chem rush moving in slow motion as you can see it and prepare for it.. however in a fast game i can zip the chems into your base in and out before you know what happens.

Thats what i hate about slow games.... the fact that there is no surprise.. you ALWAYS see it coming.... you never get blind-side blitz.

this is correct .. but the problem is that it caps the skill level.

brennq can absolutely wipe the floor with mordus in a fast game.... but if you turn the speed way down.... mord gives brennq a run for his money... and even defeats him at times.

The fact that a lesser player can defeat a greater player in a slow game means something is wrong.

ok get back to subject or i am gonna start getting pissed off, the point of the matter is, just because brennq supposedly got bored, or lalala, that doesnt mean my microing skillz are far lesser ok, we didnt play slow slow games, just wasnt lightning fast like he usually plays, so dont bring me into this topic about how your microing skillz are greater if u play fast games. because for my microing it doesnt matter how fast or how slow, i play the same all the time. ok. >:(

Of course I'll apparently never know how good Nav is because he always kicked me out of his games.  Naturally I'm not that good, but can hold my own, as many will attest...

you guys need to stop comparing yourself to navaros... in terms of who is better..

Navaros is a totally different breed of player.. he has trained himself under DIFFERENT SETTINGS...

Well everyone knows my micro suks bigtime but die and learn.

You learn more in a slower game and get too do more.

Remeber we are talking slower not standstill or laggy games speed 6 is a good speed.

I prefer a long game as i see empy as that sort of game many like a quick blitz game knife fight and such.

Fog makes the game much harder and most dont like it due to being unable to rush properly or getting caught by unexpected units and it slows the game play somewhat.

If you can micro at lightning speeds then your a great player but if you can do it at high speed then you should be able to do it even more so at a slow speed.

Obviously at a slow speed you can employ more diverse stratergies.

but it still takes hugh skill and control at high speed and belive me micro makes the difference there if you just charge in with a force twice as large as your opponents and he's good at micro and your not you lose belive me i know. ;)

People always bring up the fact about how they beat him on 10k... and Nav says that he doesnt consider 10k real setts... so how can i be the first person to say it? Obviously i am not.

However i know you warskum and your not picky about your setts.. so you probably were not one of the people to make fun of his setts.. but most people do make fun of nav's settings.

WTF Nav, Spam is something that doesnt contribute to the thread.  I have clearly contributed to this thread by trying to stop a pityful little argument from blowing up.  This then leads to arguments and fights and fueds.  Then in the end leads up to other people getting annoyed.  This will then in turn lead to people getting banned (which we dont want).  SO why don't you just agree that you are right in your mind, and he is right in his mind.  That then saves all this childish bickering.

well heres my opinion, u play your setts and i play my setts, i dont much care for your setts, ohwell, if i play u with them u have an advantage, and if u play mine i have an advantage.

Gunwounds, I think you are really off base on this one. The reason Nav waits soo long to play is not because of his setts, its because of him. He has already pissed of 99% of the players on emp by calling them GAY and n00bs and telling them that they suck. I played a couple games with him under a n00b nick the other day to see if things had changed at all. They haven't. He allied me and we creamed the other 2 players. He then told them that they sucked and were n00bs. Then alchemi came into the game, asked cyrenius how he was. Asked him about being banned from fed2k. Cyrenius(Nav) replied : "fed2k is GAY and Gob is an asshole."

I expect that alchemi can back this up. I wanted to make a screen shot , but didnt have the program handy, sorry. Anyways Guns, it has little to do with the setts, he has made almost everyone bitter tword him cuz of his big mouth. Most veteran players dont even try to enter his games because they know that they will not get 1 word out before they are kicked. Thats why you wait for 5 hours lol , not cuz of qm+fog.
