The Ambassidor looked up at the man and lowered his hood*

Let me explain the situation......

We found this man behind the building. He placing another bomb when we found him. Fortunatally we got him and shut off the weapon. If that weapon had the same magnitude that the last had it would have demolished this building and all the neiborhing ones aswell. And I know you are probelly wondering how we could have gotten into the inner curtain. Well we landed on a star pad to the south. It was on the edge of the effected area. Which is only 6 or 7 blocks from here. We ran over here and came up on the building from the rear. There were no guards that we could see so we continued. We got to the back of the building and found him. And here we are. Anyways we are glad we stopped another tragedy from happining. I confiscated the devise aswell and my men are holding it, we will turn it over to you.

He paused for a few seconds*

I was assured that this would be a safe/secured situation and I come to find that the city is in flames....much will have to be discussed at this meeting.

Anyways, my men and I want quarters for the remaining days until the meeting. We will stay out of the way have no fear...

The fleet is now entering the outer orbit of the planet where the UHC meeting is held.

"Admiral, urgent communication from our men in UHC!"

"Send it through."

*Massive bombing incidents, city in flames. No damage to palaces and Grand Hall. Meeting will proceed as scheduled.*

"Send for the ambessdor." ordered Ogura.

"Yes sir."

Feena soon arrived on the deck, and Ogura explained the situation to her...

"Ambessdor, I remind you once again of the situation down the planet, and your special identity, which might..." explained Ogura.

"Admiral, I would still attend the meeting." said Feena calmly, "And I would not stay on the vessel until the day of meeting, we can't show weak towards the other houses."

"As you wish, ambessdor. But please allow me 12 hours before you land on the planet, I wish to negociate with the UHC for the bodygard problem."

Message to the UHC:

Cluster 13 would still attend the meeting. Our representative would arrive in 12 hours time. Due to the recent events, I request that a squad of bodygards to accompany the ambessdor, and the restrictions on weapons be loosened.

It was the second time in a short while that Hroden was in the sick bay.  This time however, he was in a more critical state.  The doctor worked endlessly on him, patching things up and bandaging wounds here and there.  Luc looked on, worried.

Only Hroden would know what had gone on, and only he would know who had done this attack.  But at the moment it didn't look like he was in any state to talk.

"He's coming around" interjected the Dr.

"Sir, sir." Luc ran over to his side and took his hand

"Luc........is...that..you?"

"Yes sir, it is."

"Good.......I...have a few....uhhhhh......things i.....i.....i want to tell you."

"What sir?"

"You...must...go to the meeting."

"Certainly sir."

"Tell them....it...was the Trifoil.  I recognised the bomber......"

"Who are the Trifoil?"

"A terror group......I was a member once.....but i was on the run after i killed their leader."

"This was aimed at you?"

"Most likely....uhhhhhh"

"Sir, sir.  Are you alright."

"Avenge m....." With that Hroden drew his last painful breath and his eyes shut.  The doctor rushed over and started resucitating it, through Luc's eyes everything was in slow motion, but it was pointless.  The Boss was gone, and now Luc was in charge.  He headed down the corridor and to his room, time seemed to stand still.  He pressed his comm button and spoke.

"My Friends of the Garden, I am afraid that our beloved boss has died.  He was killed by The Trifoil, and we shall avenge him.  I am heading down to the  surface to attend this meeting.  We shall not show weakness."

Luc packed a bag and headed to the bay.  He loaded up and set off, it was going to be a matter of time before he arrived at the meeting, and he had alot of thinking to do.

The Imperial guard left the palace and went back to the ship where they loaded up and set off to orbit the planet.

The Ambassidor paced in his room. It was large and well decorated. Sun shined in through the large glass doors that lead to a balcony.

The Ambassidor sat down and went to his bags where he pulled out a small portable computer. He started to compose a message to send back to Lord Xavier.

M'lord Xavier,

I have arrived at the U.H.C homeworld safely. Although apon arrival chaos had broke out in the city. A bomber set off a massive weapon that decmated much of the downtown area. As we arrived we could see the destruction as the flames grew and the smoke rose into the air. We made our landing and my team and I set off for the palace, we got into the inner curtain which is supprising because they are saying security is at an all time high. I guess the U.H.C isent what it used to be. But as I was saying, we approached the palace from the rear and when we got close we amazingly came across the bomber and apprhended him. We turned him over to the U.H.C and I was given quarters. Although my unit has been sent back to the transport and they had to leave the planet and go into orbit. I find this proposteris! With the recent events it is nessary for us to have some sort of protection. They are sticking to this policy and I doubt they will break down. They assure me they have the situation under control but I find this quite funny considering the past days events.....

The meeting will take place in 4 days as schedualed. I will report back to you then with more news.

Your loyal servant,

~Ambassidor Calmidar

"Frankly, I'm getting tired of this totalitarian behaviour." Alakimar growled into the old transmitter. It was the oldest working machine on the planet, and as such was nearly impossible to trace.

"Their behaviour is what they deem to be... prudent." The other speaker replied, his voice hissing and scratchy, hardly the quality of the more modern machines.

"Prudent, over-confident, paranoid, completely unsuccessful?" Alakimar asked rhetorically. "We are guarding ourselves because we do not trust others to do it for us. I for one do not feel any safer in the knowledge that I am surrounded by elite guards that are not mine."

"On that at least we agree."

"And so, it seems, does Cluster 13."

"My sister is making absolutely no effort to pacify anyone, and nobody is making any effort to placicate her. We have to do something."

"For her behalf?"

"Don't be dense. For all of our sakes. She holds the destiny of our planet in her warrior's hands and thus controls our foreign policy. And that is an international risk that I for one am not prepared to undertake or accept responsibility for. My sister must attend that meeting so that things have a chance to go right. If she makes a mess then hopefully she will be replaced by someone more... able. You no doubt have your own reasons."

"Indeed I do."

"Very well, Raziel, I shall do what I can."

"You do that."

Joint message to the UHC:

We are in agreement, we wish to have our guards on the planet with us, if not at the meeting itself. Boycotting is certainly on the table and your fines are not the threat that you wished. Allow us to attend.

From Alakimar and Raziel.

(Yes, Dragoon Knight and I discussed this beforehand).

Raziel recieved the incoming message from the U.H.C. informing him of the increase in guards.  He chortled to himself.

"What is it that you don't understand, Mr. U.H.C.?" he said to himself, and began to write a reply.

Message to the U.H.C:

"No no no... you don't seem to understand.  It's quite simple: if we can't bring our own personal bodyguards, then we don't come.  And with all due respect, your fees don't frighten me, for one.  My Draconites are my personal retinue: I bring them along whenever I venture beyond my own planet, and your little meeting is no different.  They will do no harm as long as no harm comes to me.  Now, if your security is as good as you claim it is, then I don't see the problem here.

I await your favourable reply.

Regards,

Raziel of House Dragoon."

Rodrigues was sitting in his office looking over the grain imports from Julius when an aid rushed in.

The aid was Alfred Vomul one of the few aids Rodrigues could trust.

"Sir! Two cities in the southern countenit of Julius, GCA and Wolf Lake, 33 million dead. They set off thousands of bombs in each city each one was atleast 5000 pounds, both cities are in ruins."

Rodrigues shook with fury, he threw the grain reports off his desk."Who did this?" He growled.

"All evidence points towards the Tolneps.."

"Tolneps? How far is that?"

"10 systems, Tensions have been high since they stopped shiping us minerals, their goverment is a strong democracy, maybe they dont like the idea of a nationelist empire growing in power near them."

"Prepare the fleet, Prepare the ground troops, we are going to show the Tolneps how we respond to unprovoked attacks."

Message to UHC:

More men would only mean a higher chance of chaos. We would still be sending 4 bodygards along with the ambessdor, armed. The transport is now leaving the fleet as the message is being sent. Fine us as you wish, and gun down the transport. If you dare so.

Regards,

Admiral Ogura of Cluster 13

"Droping in 30 seconds." The intercom said the voice booming in the small pod.

Ryan Sharpie shook with anticipation. The small atmospheric pod was claustrphobic and stressfull a single red light lighted the pod. His rifle was pressed against him.

"10 seconds." The intercom said again.

"Remember your mission." The CO of the company said to everyone three pods away.

"God speed."

The light turned green and Sharpies stomic dropped out from underneith him.

The pod dropped at nearly 17,000 miles per hour retro guidence boosters helped make sure it didnt burn up in the atmosphere.

The Shocktroopers battlecry played over the intercom and Sharpie could only pray that they landed succesfully, 12,000 shock troops in the first wave, 30,000 once a landing field could be cleared.

125 frigetes and 325 bombers were sent to escourt the rapid dropships to their destination, The Tolnep fleet had scrambled to intecept and would arive in hours, The invasion had caught the Tolneps off gaurd.

"Don't worry Quavisstra, I am quite capable of looking after our interests for now." Alakimar smiled. "And aren't you glad I took such steps?"

"I do not know whether to threaten or praise you." Quavisstra admitted, from several hundred thousand miles away. "You have directly disobeyed the orders of your sisters, but it has been useful. You will safeguard our interests and make no final decisions until I arrive." She paused for a second. "Unless absolutely necessary."

"I am, as always, at your service." Alakimar's smile broadened. "I even took your advice, and brought guards of my own to the planet."

"I should hope so too." Quavisstra growled. "When I arrive I shall land with my guards whether they like it or not."

"And then I shall be relieved of my duties?" Alakimar asked rhetorically.

"Be thankful it will probably not be your life." Quavisstra's voice hardened. So saying, her transmission cut out.

Alakimar Rilynar sat back, slightly worried but more than pleased with himself. He had secured a joint message with Raziel, and almost immediately after that he had managed to slip past his two sisters and make his way to the UHC HQ.

Quavisstra of course was far too far away to arrive any time within the next two days or so, but Alakimar had left some time ago, passing her on the way though she hadn't known it. He was on the planet and ready to begin business.

'That's an advantage to having more than one leader I suppose... He mused to himself, 'We can be in more than one place at any one time.'

Sighing, Alakimar got up and walked silently over to the door to his chambers. He had not left his ship yet, the port staff were being most unreasonable about his demand for his guards. Of course this is why his sister had refused to arrive... And ordinarily Alakimar would have been quite prepared to give up his guards. But he knew that in this case at least, he had to stand by his family's guns. His sisters would be furious if they learnt that he had arrived just to bow meekly. No, he had to put on as big a show as possible to satisfy Quavisstra's bloated ego.

"Are they still being stubborn?" Alakimar asked as he slid quietly onto the bridge.

"They are demanding that you either exist the craft alone or that we leave." A minor aide informed him.

"Open the doors." Alakimar ordered. "Ignore them. I will leave with an honour guard of six. Do not inform anyone outside the ship."

* * *

The doors of the ship slid open. The few military employees milling around snapped their heads around, staring at the black space inside. A movement caught a few eyes.

Two figures dressed entirely in black strode out from the doors. Each carried what appeared to be a huge, black sword slung across his shoulder. While the guards were still recieving orders, three more figures appeared. The middle was was robed in black, and had skin and hair to match. He appeared to be unarmed, but the two on either side of him carried similarly huge swords. Behind them, two more guards. These carried vaguely crossbow-like instruments.

The procession marched down the steps that had slid out of the ship's belly, coming to a halt just the the bottom, where they were promptly surrounded.

"You were told not to bring guards." One of the leading figures intoned. Ignoring the statement, Alakimar stepped gracefully forward until one of the guard's weapons was poking him in the chest.

"I was not under the impression," He said calmly, "That it was common practice in a non-house, peaceful organisation to employ so many armed guards. Especially not ones who will draw their weapons on a diplomatic party."

"A diplomatic party with forbidden guards." The man pointed out.

"Then shoot us." Alakimar smiled, pushing aside the weapon and stepping out towards the nearby building, followed by his retinue.

Quavisstra would be pleased.

"I am the diplomat, from House Rilynar." Alakimar smiled, bowing slightly. "This is my honour guard. They do not have to be with me ceaselessly but I would prefer to have them nearby." He grinned disarmingly, "Perhaps you might be so good as to show me to my sister's vacated quarters?"

"Very well." Alakimar sighed. His path was open to his quarters. Abruptly, he turned around and stalked back to his ship.

"What? Where-" The shouts came up, but he kept walking. A few guards moved forward to stop him.

"Diplomatic immunity." The Rilynar hissed. "Don't touch me." In a few seconds he was acsending the steps into his ship and in a few more the doors clanged shut behind him.

Within the minute the engines were starting, and the various people around the ship were forced to run for cover as the atmosphere began to heat up.

*Rilynar ship, Rilynar ship, you are not given clearance to leave, repeat, you are not given clearance...*

The ship took off, powering out and away from the city.

Message to all known factions, houses, etc:

Today an affront was committed not only against a diplomat with customary immunity but against a Great House itself. The UHC held firearms to an unarmed diplomat, and is even now incarcerating Rilynar citizens without permission or any prior consent. Their presence was not covert, in fact it was advertised. The honour guards of our diplomat were attacked without provocation and held without any semblance of justice.

Our ambassador will not stand for this treatment and neither shall I. House Rilynar demands the release it's citizens immediately, the allowance of said citizens to continue in their duty to their house, and a full and formal appology from all parties involved from the highest level downwards. We will not stand to be insulted in this manner. We also call for support from all Great Houses against this unprovoked attack on our security and integrity. If we are the first to suffer this, we shall not be the last. Do not let the UHC continue to act like this.

Our ambassador is currently in planetary orbit around the UHC HQ, awaiting a reply. There are no plans to leave as yet.

Her Dark Excellence the Valsharess Trielayne Rilynar, of Har'oloth.

Message to the Moaning Sister

I don't care what dealings you had with my boss (if any) but stop moaning.  No harm is going to come of you and I can safely say that you will be treated well, I have had dealings with the UHC before, and they treated me well and fine.
