Atreides need a basic tank

I think that the Atreides need a basic tank

Their mechs r 2 slow

Ordos hav their laser tank

Hark hav their Tank

Battles can go on 4 so long because of their vehicles

Sand Bike excluded

I think the Mongoose is a perfect tank, good firepower, not slow and AA!

yip and of course this if you actually wanted it edited be in the dune editing forum. And the mongoose does fine and mechs on emperor are just tanks with legs

mongoose is too slow.it is very hard to defend your harvesters from attack at the beginning of the game :-/

if atreides would get a basic tank, it would be like this:

Atreides Combat Tank $800

Armour: Same as Mongoose

Weapons: Rotateable Turret Mounted 80mm Cannon which is VERY light, used for anti tank pursoses only. May Crush enemy Infantry. Weak against missiles, Inkvine, and very weak against Kindjal and Laser. Strong against Assault Tanks, Flame Tanks, and even a Kobra (in groups)

Speed: About that of the Mongoose, slightly faster.

Hold up the Atr. are good enough you dont need them(therejust like the apc with a better cannon.)

The At are strong enough as it is. I don't see why a faster mongoose won't do, if that's your problem with the mechs.

it is pointless trading mongoose for that would not be worth it. It would be swapping hk assault tank with an assault mech.

I think changing units is a start of a long :( row of modifications of units, when one is made better, all the other units need improvements to equalize, and forethat are more modifications required etc etc etc.....

I agree with you on that the saying "for every action there is a reaction" could not be more true when it comes to modification of units.  :)

with a basic tank it opens up the possibility of a tank rush which is a widly used strategy

They're not in the laser tank's league, I'll grant you, but they are damn good when they get where they're going

and they give as good as they get and also they are the only ones who can shoot air in their group

i say a tank that fires missiles ought to be good..nothing strong nothing fast.....like teh hark tanks just with a rotataing turrent a bit faster less armour and fire tracking misiles  8)

Well, I thinks that's so good about Emperor, in Dune 2 (Siege Tank), in C&C (Heavy Tank), RA (Medium/Heavy Tank), Dune 2000 (Combat Tank), TS (Titan), RA2 (Grizzly/Rhino Tank) you had (a) standard tank(s).

In Emperor you haven't, Mongoose has to low armour, Assault Tank is almost unmanouvarable and fixed turret, Laser Tank is worse against infantery. So you can't just have 1 type of tank for the main force of your army.

The AT are'nt hugely unconventional, just slightly different. Of the 3, they're the simplest for new players.

you don't have to download it well you can and see how it goes. I'm working on super dune 3 which has fremen become atreides, harkonnen become imperial sardaukar and ordos mercanies. Still working on sub houses but from the combination of units it isn't too bad.

I'll release sometime.....
