ROFL

only a blithering idiot would settle with the RIAA

if they sue me - and i hope that they do - then i will counter-sue them for stealing money from everybody every time anyone buys CD-R or CD-RW discs (and everything else that they have their thieving, should-be-illegal "levies" on). and no, i will *NOT* let them settle with me for a lower sum of money. ;D

1) You're Canadian, The RIAA cannot touch you.

2) The Candian version has stated they will not be suing anyone, but will be taking the opposite route of trying to "educate" people about how evil file sharing is, and if they catch youw ill simply send you an im over which ever network you are using telling you that you are being bad.

3) You are already paying money to the CIAA or whatever it's called, I forget, for the right to downlaod music. Everytime you buy a blank CD, a certain percenatage of that money goes to them to compensate them for lost revenues through file sharing. In effect you are pying for the right to download music, even if the reason youpurchased the CD's has nothing to do with music.

Oh, and I'm Swedish. Guess what, on the date: January 1st, 00:00:01 am, 2004, the RIAA (or a kind of it) will reach here, to begin suing everybody who is downloading things here. Doesn't that sounds good?

I mean, what evil, vile old screw-ups would even think of suing a 12 year old girl? What kind of stupid idiots are controlling their futile "Reckless Industry of Ass Appealing" or something?

I'd rather see bin Laden crash a plane into their HQ... that would satisfy everybody who is human...

Trust me, if they try sueing everybody, it won't be very long until the courts themselves tell the _IAA to shove it up there asses. The egal systems clogged enougha s it is without these bullshit lawsuits.

Mahdi - yes, i know all about how the RIAA and their Candian Bureau is stealing money from me every time i buy blank media which i only ever use to make legal backup copies of software that i own. what the RIAA is doing is theft - period. there is no way around it. they are stealing from me, and every other North American (Americans are "levied" too, it's just another Bureau of the RIAA that collects on it)

the RIAA are also trying to put "levies" on all Flash Media, portable MP3 players, and even every computer Hard Drive that you ever buy! i am *NOT* making this up - the RIAA is planning to steal money from us all every time any of us buys a Hard Drive - the amount of money which is "ok" for them to steal is to be based upon how many Gigabytes are on the Hard Drive

when are people going to start ***SUING THE RIAA*** for this theft?!

There is a problem with that. They are behind the bars of the law they invented without the cooperation or interaction with the people. Isn't this funny? All big corps. have their little laws and regulations that NOBODY except themselves can change. Where did democracy go? Who's money is the RIAA living on?

Buying music CDs kill music. When you go to shop with music CDs, you agree with lowering music from art to pure article, like a milk box in food shop. You agree with artificial artists, which are as talented as your monitor showing other's work. You agree that artists should be just pure workers in recording studio, instead of showing their abilities on live concerts. You agree that music can be taken from culture.

I get all my music trough CDex and WinMX.

Gee, hearing that these guys sued a 12-year-old girl for $2000 makes me want to buy their music so much.

These people are idiots. They were shooting themselves in the foot, and now they're shooting themselves in the groin. Idiots.

These A-holes havn't won a single case that says that the accused are actually guilty of stealing. It's just the threat of a suit that causes some people to settle...

The lawsuit claimed that Ward had illegally shared more than 2,000 songs through Kazaa and threatened to hold her liable for up to $150,000 for each song. The plaintiffs were Sony Music, BMG, Virgin, Interscope, Atlantic, Warner Brothers, and Arista.

150,000 for each song? Oh my god, they are truly the gem of stupidity and corruption.

Wow, I wish I'd get that amount of money if I 'spot' a person sharing illegal files.

At the next time, they might sue a person for 5 million dollars for 'sharing' a jpg file with a person.

What I don't get is if I download a song, they would charge you $150 000 for each song. Damn lawyers must be expensive these days. As a song is not worth that much. (say I did not share that song with any other users)

Maybe if they had a reward system of say $5 000 to tell on your buddy if he is sharing songs. lol per song. ;)

Sounds good Ordos45, you should tell on me to, you would make a killing! (but you have to give me half of your payment)

My orginal message before explorer crashed >:( :

fuck, it didn't save my control copy!?!??...now I'm too pissed to write it all back out.

Basicly said that I would owe them $120 000 000, so that would take me 30 000 years to pay that off. (on average takes 10 years to pay off student loan)

But they have to wait until I pay for my student loan, so they will be waiting a while. :D

This is what the RIAA will do to you!
