I don't see how it's unfair if you both have it. As far as I know, the game doesn't have a particular thing just against *you* (although I could perfectly understand it if it did, the poor thing :))

Besides, WW ain't gonna do a thing about it. Don't you get it? You bought Emperor, they have your money, now they don't care any more.

The only way to replace scouts in late game is to have the scouts run to their destination without encountering a single enemy unit.

Hark or Ordos players amass huge legions of units, and place them all over the map.   To get scouts by these legions is impossible, unless you are gonna take 5-10 minutes of real time to run your scout a few millimetres, stop him, and run him a few more millimetres etc. until he gets to his destination.    To take that amount of time just to place a few scouts will ensure your certain death.

Not only that, but with the sheer astronomical numbers of Hark and Ordos units that move across the map pretty much gurantee that with all the space they take up collectively, your scouts will get bumped into and die.

As far as moving my units to where the Hark or Ordos is attacking my spice, that doesn't do any good.  A good Hark or Ordos will when just move his units out of the way of my incoming units before my units are close enough to fire, then attack the spice field that I just left with those units and everything else he's got including the kitchen sink.   Trying to chase a Hark or Ordos player like this does not work.  He's still gonna kill my economy, it will just be a little slower.

As I remember it, Atreides have a little thing called "Airdrone" for obliterating enemy economies.

I also remember the Atreides having an ungodly powerful mech-of-doom called "Minotaurus", which can handle anything the poor Harks can throw at you and pretty much every Ordos unit too, unless they keep moving (even so, all you need to do is get even MORE Minos).

Combine that with their crippled economy (thanks to your Airdrones) and what do you get? Another easy victory for the LAME Atreides! Yay! I could die happy... ::)

Nav has a valid point, the only problem is that everyone's known it forever.  And there's  nothing thats gonna be done about it

If it were as simple of pointing out the bug for review i would commend Nav, but he's pointing out bugs that nothing will be done about and saying he can't play the game because of them.  If its a bug, then its a bug for everyone.  Sure there may be some tatics missed cause you can't select 5 advanced caryalls at once, but that doesn't mean someone else has an edge on you cause they can't do it either.  Waypoint problems?? Welcome to the group, learn to deal with them.  I'm not gonna post how to deal with these things anymore cause i think my advice is falling on deaf ears.

back to the subject now i know this coz i played a player and camped on the side of his base where all his refs were and ALL his harvs went to differant spice fields

when u select a ref and mark a waypoint u then have to send the harvester to that field for the FIRST time the ref will then send the harv that back to that field auto-matically

as for selceting ur advanced carryalls duh!! select one and with it on screen double click T that will select all adv carry's on map u then Alt and left click on screen and they WILL ALL move to that point if they are carrying anything they will NOT drop it u have to press D to deploy

^^^^^ thats called learning  like holding J while left clicking will give u ur formation move u keep on about, and pressing Ctrl and Alt while left clicking will "auto guard" ur units when moveing (so all ur minos stop and fire if anything comes in range)

i know this now coz i saw players using them v me complimented them on there skill then tryed to learn from it, when i couldn't figure out how they had done something i asked and coz they remembered i was a good loser they helped me

as for ww pacthing emp get real they wouldn't patch TS to fix bugs and cheats when there were still 20000+ just on the ladder rankings so why in hell they gonna pacth this

and yeah as ace said if u think this game is bad for bugs go play a few games of tiberian sun u will never ever moan agian

btw ace me and max were some of the best players in the world on TS and we didn't duck in that either what does that tell you........ :O

straight up, you're wrong.

heres a tip.  having trouble selecting advcarryalls when they have cargo?  go ahead and number the adv carryalls.   take ur 5 adv carry and click on one press the T key and it selects all on the screen then press Ctrl + # key to number them then.  then after u pick up the opjects u want press the kye u numbered them and they are selected.

Dont want to always have to select ur five acarryalls at once then number them different give each one a number.  there are a lot of tips and tricks that save lots of time when using hotkeys...  it can even make the difference in a game ;D

If you don't want to listen to people telling you how to get around the bugs, and you don't believe anyone when they tell you that you CAN and we DO get around these problems without  much effort, then why post the problem???

I've posted examples of how GOOD players, and VERY GOOD players guard harvestors, even when in two different spots.  I posted how to place your refinery in a certain place to move your harvestors to a certain field.  Your reply to these posts is "no, your wrong".  Okay Nav, i just got my second calendar and i'm the one that doesn't know how to play the game, yeah right.

No ones gonna fix the bugs, everyone including Gob has told you that.  I think Dev even mentioned in a thread that there will be no further patching of EBFD.  So whats you real problem here??? Do you just like to post threads that attract attention???  Is Duke Leeto correct is saying that you "troll"??  I'm curious

You guys post "solutions" to bugs that don't solve anything.   If you think your solutions work, you are mistaken.

Everything that you guys have said to workaround the bugs in the game does not work for reasons I have stated above.  None of what you guys have said works, some of what you said may work *very occasionally*, but  none of it works most of the time due to the many bugs of Emperor, therefore the advice is pointless since it can hardly ever be applied in a useful way that will actually work.

I post my legitimate beefs/issues with Emperor and why they need to be fixed.  

Why do *you* post in my threads, Frodo?  Do you deny that you often post nonsense in my threads on purpose?

Please don't.  Everything I say about bugs in Emperor is 100% serious so I'd thank you to keep your nonsense out of my threads.

Here's a deal: If you can find a way to make WW listen and fix the bugs, I'll support you 100%. But what's the point in annoying US with your bug complaints, when we can't do anything about them?

That isn't Duke Leeeto. And Nav as EdricO said your complaining doesn't help, it just pisses everyone off, no matter what we say its wrong. The bugs are there live with them already.

There may be ways to get the bugs corrected.

Westwood won't do it, but maybe they would agree to sanctioning the tools needed to do it to people who would be able to figure out how to fix it, and then allowing the "fixed" mod to be played in Tournament games.

You would need the source code to fix a number of the bugs, or else find some way to edit the AI.

Either way WW rarely releases anything without having it go through testing first and that takes forever, remember the map editor?

Even so, Navaros, Emp is getting old. It would take a while to make a new patch. A lot of people would have moved on to newer games by then.
