Hello everyone. I am Maelos, a new member of your community. I have a few questions to ask you. First I would like to say that I am have played strat games similar to this for over 7 years. Secondly, and most importantly, I am an avid Dune reader. Well wihtout furhter adue:

1.) Is this game worth buying? I have read many reviews about it but I am in need of an opinion however biased it may be....

2.) Would this game be easy to obtain?

3.) If this game were to have a sequal/addon what would you suggest?

Its not really true to the book but I would recommend buying it

And don't forget Frank Herbert's Dune which is another Dune game based on the first novel

The game is worth buying, it might not be so easy to obtain now, but if you buy it offline your life would be a life easier. And as for the add-on, the only thing I'd suggest is to fix some small bugs it has online, other then that...Nothing.

yea thats true... that make a huge difference on the game play.

i guess its only redeeming feature is its the *best game ever*

Also is there a service that emails me (the poster) about responses. I have sen it used well on the NWN communitites I'm in.

its by far the most tactical game i have ever playd.

but be warned: if u are going to play it, u have to be commited or u just wont be able to appriate its complexity. those are the rules of emp *aaaahhhhhahahahahhhhhhh*

Also is there a service that emails me (the poster) about responses. I have sen it used well on the NWN communitites I'm in.

No there isn't but feel free to suggest it somewhere to Gob (the site admin).

So you guys are saying the best way to get this game is via internet...? I have searched and have found many copies...is there a new updated version with all he patches included (like tribes 2, another game I play..sometimes when I'm not building).

Does this game work with XP?

Yes the game works fine with XP home edition but there are some problems if you are using norton internet security 2003 ( lucky i got 2002 edition )

dude im gona be honest at first this game was the bomb and still is but ea just makes it harder and harder they close down chat they close down ladder but ya man this is honestly the best strat game out and prob always will be !

I really belive you guys but I'm having a hard time getting it :'(. So I have found some copies on Amazon which I will be willing to pay for $19.99. Hopefully after I cme back from a small trip today through Sat. I will either have it or it will be on its way. My father sees this as just another game but I think it might have the potential to become a "blast from the past". Just like Alpha Centari, if you guys have ever played that. And somewhat like tribes 2.

1.Yes,it is.

2.Yes,it would be.Just look into the game shop's junkbox. :D

Update your game to the latest patch v 1.09 ( click on downloads-emperor-patches at the start page of this site ) and create a WOL nickname ( use last link that gob posted on the new account thread ). After that you are ready to play online. Good luck ...

Gotcha...already got the profile because I was getting way too excited last night cross referencing stratagies.. ::). I'll have to get the patch after I get the game but it should be soon (as in hopefully today) ;). I'll check out the ladder, but I think I might want to at least have a few hours inder my belt before I start getting pwned :-[.

Do I need to get mappacks? Where and what is availible?
