So Hillary or Colin?

A woman married to an ass or a man named after one ^-^

If a woman is elected President is her Husband still the first lady?

I am still a firm believer in Bulworth's prescription for harmony ~ " We've just got to keep f*cking each other till we're the same colour ". smilie_switch.gif = color_.gif

That would certainly put an end to race relations and we could starting thinking more about the human race. earth.gif

you'll see a black man as President long before a woman. there will never be a woman President.

Will Smith has been wanting to run for President for many years, except he was too young. You have to be 35 or over to run for President. As soon as he runs, he'll definitely win. Who can compete with Will Smith? He's a celebrity and a rap star. No way he could lose.

So a black President will come sooner than you think. As soon as Will Smith runs, and he's planning to.

So we have the Fresh Prince getting jiggy in the Whilte House while Arnold is pumping up Cali. and Springer is holding a 'Ho down' at Congress.

I can see it happening 8)

Yeah, I think the US will have a black president first. But I think the first black president has to be extra careful, there's plenty of racist and nazis who prefer otherwise...

A mexcain president....

I think if a woman is to be a president, either all the men have died on a sexual disease that attacks the Y chromosome (reminds me of an Outerlimits episode), or the woman is more manly than some men. A president of the United States crying for every tragedy and going to war once every month would probably be the end of all America. :P

Yeah, the society is "built" that way. The men should be out working, and the women should take care of the family. I don't think women can rule anything. Sure, they can be teachers, doctors, secretaries etc, but not leaders.

The question is mainly one of which the party machines are most willing to support. I know little abotut the relative discrimination inherent in the politics departments of American big businessses, so I cannot really comment which.

But do remember it's not necessarilty going to be the left who are more likely to offer one up - Lady Thatcher (PM '79-'90) was a Tory...

WHAT??? I sincerely hope you guys are joking. You're starting to sound like islamic fundamentalists...

The sooner the US stops having only white male presidents, the better. Discrimination is a loathsome plague.

The only place I don't like to se women is the Royal Guard, or any other form of army group that face "real" battle. Call me a sexist but they aren't fit for it, I was in a group with 4 females NON of them was ever fit for battle doing the time I was in and they whined ALL the time.

However I believe women are equally fit to govern a country Thatcher is a good excample but look back in history and find names like Victoria, Elisabeth, even Cleopatra, this clearly prooves that women are equal to men IMO.

Victoria, Elizabeth, Matilda, Cleopatra, Hatpshuwhatsit... Plenty of examples. And I think that if women want to go somewhere (army included), they should go. If they don't like it, they'll come back. If they do a bad job; oh well, too bad. Better than denying them the chance.

The only difference between women and men is physical. No one denies that, ON AVERAGE, women are less strong than men (however, since this is just an average, some women are actually stronger than some men).

But that's not a reason to discriminate. For jobs which involve physical effort, we should simply place the same requirements on both genders. Neither women nor men should get preferential treatment.

No DustScout, you miss the point in the army you have to rely on your buddie, I wouldn't do that with a woman, we had one VERY bad example that started to cry because we were telling booggie stories in the words after dark. She cried??? we were sitting with loaded rifles in a dark wood.

But there was lots of examples, another girl couldn't climb any high obsticles, she was affraid of hights????

Also on the training field women in Denmark will have the advantage of using a box to climb the tall obsticles, the reason? they aren't as tall as men and haven't got as much strength?? Ohhh ok, when in war the obsticles will be smaller for women??? sorry wrong answer, if they want to be in the army they have to do it on same terms as men not a % less.

Posted

Yes, they do have to do it the same as men. They just don't have the rules for that yet. And it's fine to be scared of heights. I'm scared of heights. Just because a woman has it doesn't mean she's any less able than a man with the same condition. Acrophobia isn't inherant to women.

As for the stories... well perhaps she was homesick or something. I still say you're perhaps being a bit hard on them.

As for the reliance on buddies in the army... well I never have approved of that.

DustScout, it's in the army?? you're trained to kill people starting to cry wont get you no where, I don't like heights either but I bit it in me, and most certainly didn't start crying. Face it women to not belong on a battle field, that's my opinion.

Men are stronger than Women, but WOMEN can be faster than them.

Men = Brute strength / Women = Brute Speed

And don't forget, most women are more smarter than men.

But everybody has his own strengths.

"Invidual"

You should never underestimate women.

It is like underestimating the samurai of the Japanese.

Edric, there are also mental differences as well. And those examples you gave, compare that to how many men leaders. Women are not equal to men, but they are not lesser or more. You also can't make a woman president for the sake of a woman becoming president, that would ruin the country, instead ignore that she's a she and consider her policies and what she plans to do with the country.
