  1. Yes, they're gonna write the seventh book. No idea what its about. I think they're going to write the Butlerian Jihad Trilogy first, though. Personally, I don't like their work. They've cheapened the Jihad, which Herbert described as a war waged against man's growing dependance on machinery, into a Terminator style war for freedom against robotic enslavers.

The "dog-people" were the army of the Egyptian jackle-headed god of embalming, Anubis.

    Earth

The appendix in the book DUNE says something about Earth. I don't have the book on me right now (lent it to a buddy) but if I remember correctly the book states that the ecosystem gotr messed up, so eventually everyone left. Eventually the Earth got cleaned up and was preserved as a sort of testament to man's past.
  4. That is awesome, Orlok. It really does look like a screenshot of a game. Have you considered game programming?
  5. I hope it's closer to the book than the movie or any of the other games were.
  6. Ok, did anyone else read the answer to #9? Dune World? Ok, either something is really wrong hear, or I reeeeeeeally need to get my hands on this book. Anyone got any info on it (or a correction to answer #9?)
  7. I love them!! The ornithopters are awesome, much closer than they were to anything in the movies or. I was amazed that WSG made the Fremen look pretty much EXACTLY as I envisioned them. (Very arabesque desert wear.) The Bene Geserit, Chani, Stilgar, Paul.....everyone looked great. The Baron was walking instead of floating, which is how the book had it. (The suspensors were to help him support his weight, not to make him fly.) My only problem: the worms. They look too sluglike. They don't appear to be able to move fast or even raise their bodies up.
