Well if there were any pogroms, the zensunni must have been responsible for them themselves you don't just murder someone without a reason ??? sorry, I guess that one was a bit over the line :P Anyway, so some of these Zensunni setteled on Tleilax, and some setteled on Dune.. where there more planets?

Yeah they didn't ban it, they just avoided it. A picture would not evoke emotions to the same degree as music. It is more difficult to associate a picture to memory-emotions than music. Music would instantly give you associations. It takes more time for a picture. Still this picture does not evoke emotions in me, when seeing it.
I did not say that they destroyed everyhthiing related to music. But I am pretty sure they banned it. I wounder how FH came across the painting, and decided to use it in his books. What do you thiink is the meaning of this painting?
this is a bit off-topic, but I have been woundering for a while: when you write "try and encourge" is that right? I would think it should be "try to encourage", but I am not sure what is right in english. Can you write both?
I didn't realize that they were mentioned in the original books, but you ar right dunenewt: This quote is also quite interesting: It is very difficult to predict how space travel could affect religions, but you could look back 500 years and see how traveling over the atlantic ocean did it. I guess that would somewhat be the same effect.
This is going to be one of the few objects surviving the destruction of earth in 15 millenia: How could Odrade and other Mother Superiors be so facinated by this piece of art, which could have the same emotional effect as music? That is why music was banned by the BG. You could almost draw a parallel to the movie Equilibrium, where emotions are forbidden. How come the BG didn't go further than just banning music?
