Hello, my name is -FW-Wolf. I am leader with my friend cnc95fan of a new Dune game called Battle for Dune made on the W3D Engine, we started out as a mod for C&C Renegade and then got standalone clearance. We aim to bring the loved RTS Emporer: Battle for Dune to your feet so you can feel and relive those great Dune games and times. We are currently working towards a Btea client. We've been developing some special scripts and eye-candy for the Renegade engine to give the best possible outcome of a FPS version of E:BFD. (This game will be standalone from the Renegade engine, meaning you will not have to own a copy of C&C:Renegade to play).

They actually look like RL toys...

That's exactly what went through my mind as well.  The textures are very smooth, yet detailed.

Out of curiosity:  Do you have any plans to add a ridable worm?  And if so, how the heck are you going to do that?

Yes, they do look cool ^^. All thanks to our slave modeler Bullet.Designer, who also did the skins. He has made a lot of other buildings, including the whole of the Atrides base, untextured presently. We are constantly debating about issues over the sandworm, and at the present moment, due to lack of features in the Renegade engine, you will not be able to hope on a sandworm, (without some real difficult ASM hacking anyway). So keep up-to-date at www.fwclan.co.uk/battlefordune/index.php as our main domain (www.battlefordune.co.uk) is offline. Indeed, it will be 100% standalone. Best played with a computer, mouse and keyboard. Single Player and multiplayer. There will probably be a choice in downloads of the versions:

Single Player

Multi Player

Both

This saves people having to download/install unwanted programs.

We will try our best to give you the E:BFD feel in our single player missions, but also try to keep that even more in our mulitplayer.

Hey Dale,

This is fine and I am excited to see this mod, it looks fantastic!

Please remember however, whether it is standalone or not, you still need to abide by our legal rules which means you cannot use the mod or sell the mod for any profit or monetary gain. I just want to make sure that is clear and understood. I trust you guys beyond that.
