Generals is a great game!

When generals first came out people absolutely dispised it, some though saw it for what it was, a really fun game.

Many people said that the storyline was absolutely horrible, and it was totally. Let me ask you this though, were any of the command and conquer games good in the story line area? they were all so stupid it makes me laugh, but the gameplay was awesome. People freaked out about the movies, but damn, blizzard does better. I hated all of the command and conquer movies because they were gritty, horribly done, the script was sick. I mean what reason is there for you to like any of that stuff? sure you have your own opinion, but blech.

The game is fun, and has great unit dynamics and stability. Beautiful graphics, and it just leaves you wanting to play more. any of you agree?

I wasn't particulary fond of the gameplay and my graphics card wasn't good enough for high graphic settings, wich means there isn't much point in playing Generals for me.

I love it. Good gameplay, IMO, and the best graphics to date.

And about the storyline: Unrealy Tournament is still widely liked, and it don't have sh*t of a storyline.

Yes I too love Generals. The graphics are awsome and stunning. I was one of the ones that hated the fact that the movies wernt real. TS had awsome storyline and movies were great. Generals is prob my fav game at this point. Good graphics, awsome gameplay, fun all together!

I played a game with my buddy last night. No rush. The game went on for 3 HOURS!!! We are ok players and the other 2, one was very good and the other was all right. Its games like that that are awesome. Thats why I like the game. Hell i probably got hit with at least 10 scud storms but came out on top. I love the game. The fact that you can just go online and get into a game in a matter of seconds is great. Just wish the campaigns would have been more thought out and actual video added.

The graphics would be better if they put in the darker colors, like a TS feel sort of.

The game ISN'T balanced, it's close to being but it isn't, the American air force needs a new patch, the MIG's cost less, build faster and are stronger and the commanches are to weak (Armor wise) for their price and well, what is it, 2,500 for the Arora? Seriously, it does need some balance helping. Gameplay is decent but not espically great, espically since you can mass SW's.

Bah, TS was too gloomy for my tastes.

As for the balancing, a lot of the Air Force issues wll be fixed in 1.06. You do have a point though, massing supers is pretty stupid.

the tiberian series (Tiberian Dawn, Tiberian Sun, Renegade) had a good storyline (renegade had a horrible story, but it was part of the tiberian series). Red Alert's story was total $%@%#^@%$ but at least better than Red Alert 2's. Generals does not have an original storyline, but hey, it clicks with modern world at least! So let's sit back and enjoy the game, alright?

I don't enjoy my games, I play to win at them (Thus why I am so hard on the games that I review), there needs to be some balance issue's fixed here, and a storyline set's out a basic concept of what you'd be fighting for (Even if you don't care, not like I'm fighting for the Duke on Emperor) and there are some other issue's that really need to be addressed before I can give this game any chance amungst my others (Even though I have the graphics up to full, same with resolution and don't lag, pretty nice actually).

With the exception of Generals and RA2, I love CNC stories and vidio, they are just cool. it adds a sense of reality to the game, unlike blizzard games, which while can be fun, are often too cartoony for my tastes. All blizzard games just feel like a cartoon. I will be playing starcraft, and get the sudden urge to change the channel to Nickelodean or Cartoon network. CNC games always felt more real to me, and they are a lot easier to get into.

Then there was RA2, which tried to turn Red Alert into a comicbook/cartoon. It felt like they wanted you to take it seriously, but screwed it up so bad that you couldnt. RA2 had some fun gameplay, but the story/vidios sucked, and I couldnt help thinking of how much better it could have been. The situation was largly rectified by YR, which set RA2 firmly in a comic book place, so people would stop trying to take it seriously and just have fun.

Then there was Generals, which has awesome gameplay, but obviously, no storyline or vidios. while it is a great game, I am still waiting for TT.

Hopefully the next CNC has some awesome vidios. My favorite cutscene from ANY game EVER is from the very first CNC(Tib dawn) Where Seth sits you down and starts giving you your mission to attack the pentagon, then out of nowhere a gun pops out and *bam* seth goes down. Kane calmly walks over, removes seths dead body, and gives you your mission. You cant beat that.

Scrinlord, if you like games with good stories and video scenes I recommend you get Earth 2150 (the original) if you still can get it anywhere. It's old, but still decent graphics and it has a good storyline and cut scenes.

It had two sequels btw. The newest, Lost Souls, has good missions (though hard ones!) and a good story but not very good video scenes, while The Moon Project (the second in the trilogy) had a sucky storyline and no good video scenes. Bleh!

Yes, american air units are way overpriced. Raptors cost 40% more than migs, but do LESS overall damage, and have MUCH less armour. Both are about the same speed. SO wtf is with that? raptors should be the same price as migs if not less. And the commanches armour is like tinfoil. But overall i still love the game :) it's great fun, great balance (on the whole) and great graphics! ;D

Currently my favorite game. :) I just love china, especially the Nuke cannons. There's nothing like watching a whole group of tanks burn out and then explode under 1 or 2 nuke cannon shots. Now if only they had some EITS.... ;)

I also like flame tank rushes.

I immediately fell in love. The graphics, units and balance are all top notch. US just has some early game money problems, but the US also has Auroras, humvies and the best infantry.

The General abilities also add a lot more strategic depth. As did the new blizzard like build order. I know many think its like selling out, but I see it as a step forward. Before all you had to do was take out a con yard and buildings were always bunched up. Now buldings are spread out and taking out the Command Center doesn't give you such a big advantage. The back up economy is also good for longer games and turtling.

Esentially the gameplay very much reminded me of Emperor, which I liked a lot. Far more strategic then RA2.

i'm not sure, but i think that the f22's do more damage vs. armored units like tanks than the migs, migs are better vs. infantry though with their napalm missiles. But if you get the f117 upgrade, it's better to build those anywya.

f22's do more damage to an individual unit, but 1 mig will still do more overall damage to amroured units (just in an area effect) than 1 raptor would since it only targets single units. And if you have napalm upgrade with 4 migs = firestorm which is hella deadly to even the heaviest of units PLUS it has a radius effect and the migs have like double the armour of the f22. This is really quite unrealistic considering the f22 raptor is the most advanced and expensive fighter in the world, and therefore it should be more expensive than the mig, but it should also be armed to the teeth as it is in real life.
