It is funny. It's hilarious. It portrays Hitler as a bit of a fruit, who prances around singing about spring. My entire [Jewish] family loves it. So... you're both twits :)

I like the author of the fictional play. He starts giving orders to the audience when they start laughing at the goofy Hitler. "You are the audience, I am the author, I out rank you!" Hilarious. That's Mel Brooks for you. I love just about all of his movies.

A pair of producers find an ex-Nazi and convince him they are making a serious show about Hitler. So, when Hitler starts dancing and singing the ex-Nazi, who is in the audience, is disgusted! It's the funniest movi ever!

Yep. That was Mel Brooks' first movie and I would have to agree that it is his best. It doesn't hurt to have Zero Mostel and Gene Wilder as the lead characters either. The whole gag of course is that they are trying to make a play that will flop so they can keep all the cash that was raised to make the play. So they figure a play called "Springtime for Hitler" has got to be a bomb. I found the lyrics here. I am sure you could find the mp3 off of kazaa.
