Is anyone here taking GCSEs at the moment? I just had a French speaking test today and man did I suck! Is anyone else just pis*ed off with GCSEs? I guess I just made this thread to vent my frustation.

I did my french and maths a year early. I had Italian oral today, ive got my French AS oral on Monday and my first Latin paper on Tuesday :-.

But relax. If you don't know it by now, you're stuffed. If you do know it, you've nothing to worry about.

I get 1 day too, but I meant that I still have 1 week (of school) left before exams start. I get 3 days study leave but that inlcudes a weekend so it is really 1!

Luckily, I seem to remember things I don't remember having read anywhere :P

I usually have no problems with tests and such. An hour or two is enough usually.(For oral english exam too (which I had last Wednesday) ;D)

Like:

We get to know what we will have an oral exam in 2 days before the actual exam. Then we have 2 days to prepare.

How is it at your place?

Well, the modern language GCSEs are divided into three sections: There's the card roleplays of which there are two. You are given 2 cards 10 minutes before the exam detailing what you need to say and what your examiner will ask. Then there's the Conversation which is a 1 minute long speech that you have to remember off by heart of a topic of your choosing and then the examiner asks you some questions on our topic. Finally there's the Unseen Conversation topic where the examiner asks you questions but you have no idea what they will be on until the actual exam.

Hmmm, your test was different to mine. I had 1 random role play card which you have to play the part of someone, you have 10 mins to prepare for that.( i got a card about giving directions, damn)You then have to give a presentation about something (work experience for instance) and then the examiner bombards you with questios that fit under certain topics that you sort have prepared for.

I have the same as Apollyon, 2 roleplays, with 10 minutes preparation, and one about yourself that you pick, for me it is at home and abroad.

I have 5 exams soon. "Highers" they are called here. The first is on Friday, English. And then....

I'm glad I dumped German in 4th year. Not because I don't like it, I was just never very good at it.

In Norway, the system goes from 1-6 where 6 is best.

However, 6 is almost unreachable as you need 98% correct to achieve it.

What's the lower limit for an A in England and in USA?
