This is not like the emperor online day thread.

On which times are you usually online? (EMP: WOL)

I'm online:

3 PM till 4 PM on regular days except friday.

On friday i will be on from 3 PM till 5 PM and from 6 PM till something like 10 PM.

Saturdays and sundays are still unknown to me, i will probably be working on my site or be online.

These times are in GMT.

6:30-7:00, maybe 7:30 or 8:00 if I'm lucky P.M. EST Weekdays

8:00-10:30 A.M. Weekends, occasionally later in the day.

Yeah, I know, not very much, and I can't gauruntee that I'll be on Emperor: That's all the time I get on the computer, aside from schoolwork. :- My d*mn parents are still living in the '60s, they think computers are evil or something. >:(

this thread won't accomplish anything because who the heck will ever bother to learn how another timezone works?

you can say MT, PT, AT or whatever any of the other Timezone abbreviations are, but the fact is: no one CARES about any timezone other than his own. no one is gonna research a new timezone. (or very few people at most)

since people here are from all different timezones, you're never gonna figure anything out by asking that Q

There have been other threads with links to TZ converters so it really isn't that hard. Hell if an old hippie like me can figure it out then I'm sure these youngster computer whizzes shouldn't have any trouble, other than searching for the thread. ;)

think of "researching new timezones" in the same light as "download and install the Emperor mappacks"

both are simple and beneficial tasks which take very little time to do. but, how many people who play Emperor online have ever bothered to get the mappacks? at the most, it's 15% although realisitically i'd put the figure at about 7% or less

the point is: wherever effort is required, even the tiniest bit of effort, you will find that very few humans will go that extra mile (or 1/4 mile even)

Everytime I host with a map-pack the first words are 'where did you get those...' at least they're interested. Not a lot of ppl know about them, I bet if it was possible to make a patch where you could download the maps of the host more ppl would get them. As far as ppl an TZ if everyone used a messenger service it would be rather easy to set up games that way. But I agree, in the end some ppl are lethargic and wont bother.
