Once I figure out the best patch to download for New Zealand. I guess I will be another lamb for the slaughter when playing online. How do we organise match ups at good times to suit everyone. New Zealand is in the middle of nowhere and sees the new day before anyone else? Im totally new to the Dune 2000 online gaming. i may need some help, but I learn fast.

Glad to give you a game online. I just need to figure out how to use rotorzconnector. Look for bruich when online in dune 2000. Is there an easy way to operate inside the dune2000 online menus?

I agree with your comments about unmodified games. If everyone starts at the same level, and I lose (which I probably will), then you are beat by the person and not the game. Isn't getting online the reason for challenging against other people and not better games!

Shy Girl,

That is not very educated talk where where you born in a dumpster. Talk proper english : butt whoopin is street talk not proper english.

I looked and youre web page and it is half/half - translated- you think you are the greatest and that you make fun of newbies. I can arrange a battle maybe in June or July when i get my new computer( buying the latest Pentium 4 even though mine is pentium 4 but i want it to be the latest). Also i can afford this because I am very RICH.

this isnt on the topic subject really but i would reccomend an Athlon64 instead of a P4. On paper, some may argue that the P4 is better, but try the P4 and then the Athlon 64 and feel the difference! especially when Windows XP 64 bit edition comes out

hmm, do you have:

1. Tried to reinstall the game and tried to patch again?

2. An illegal, Harddisk version?

Make sure you have an original disk of dune 2000.

Totally remove all reference to the program on your computer.

Reinstall the program from disk, make sure you select internet options on setup

Once installed select multiplayer. If the disk is original, Westwood online will want to do an automatic upgrade, which when completed will cause your machine to reboot. Connect to multiplayer again and a second automatic upgrade will take place causing another reboot. Download the zipped copy of the patch v1.06 from this site, unzip the patch to the dune2000 root directory (3 files I think). Do not leave the zipped file in the root directory. Run the exe file to install the upgrade. When finished look at the bottom right of the start up screen to show which version you are on (v1.06).

Download RotorZconnector version 0.86 and its upgrade 0.91. Install 0.86 then copy the 0.91 exe file over the top of the 0.86 exe file.

Use the link from the thread westwood online to register online, I'll post the link later, along with the place to find rotorzconnector.

Copy the rotorz icon to your desktop.

To get online, disconnect your firewall and activate rotorz before opening dune 2000.Before going online set your dune 2000 graphics to 8 bit. All going well you can now get online.

If I've missed anything can someone please expand on this, thanks

I burned a cd of my original disk for a friend. At the faster write speds it didn't work. When you get hold of another game make sure you burn it at a slower speed. Better to get hold of an original though.

Let me know how you get on? :)

Don't know about modem connection. I pay enough for my ISP connection, I don't want to add toll calls also. Sorry I can't help with modem advice.
