remember how stable computers used to be compared to the ones now? it is like what cars turned into. They used to be built for longevity and quality, then it just turned into, how fast and efficiant can I make it?

Still got a computer from 1990 downstairs that works. Slow compared to new ones, but it still works perfectly.

Newer computers are quite stable, even compared to the old ones.

It is because the expanded usability that it sometimes crashes.

The quality of the parts and such is better nowadays than it were back in the old days.

Me and my brother got a 80-286 computer with a broken fan and a crashed harddisk i think. It's fun to look at/inside ;D

BTW, Ghosthunter, on your picture there are a bit too many screws I think...

To open the cabinet, you usually only need to screw 2-5 screws... not 19...

You may have piled the screws from some other devices in that screwheap, though.

There were wabout 8 screws holding the case together....And about 35 for the motherboard and theres this one hiding way back in a corner that I can't to....Bastard...

Is that a socket 7 ?

Remember those little plastic white things that hold your board to the case, at first .. they where aufull to get loose ..

That which will nver need be repaired nor replaced will never bring customers back to spend more.

Nowadays, things tend to be made more for profit, and less for the user. A despicable practice...
