www.dune2k.com the website is made in xhtml, well, except the forums.

Yes, the forum, liky my page and forum, is made in php.

Do not forget that php return a perfectly normal html page to your browser, though.

A perfect idea since only a few computers actually have php installed on them.

PHP is XHTML? I thought XHTML was a new thing?

XHTML is just HTML with more restrictions on what is allowed and the coding style is more strict.

Is XHTML put into IE/Mozilla so that lax coding will not work?

Well Mozilla has both standards compliant mode and a quirks mode that will render pages slightly differently.
