Vote CDA. Groenlinks is ok, but CDA is better IMO. Lijst Rene Smeitink has still to be formed, but it will be the best of them all, eventually... just wait a couple more years

but earthnuker and Timenn, you're 17 right? heheh you can't vote :P ;D

:) hmm i doubt that it has so much to do with stupidity. If Pim were still there, things would've been different. I think he would have been a pretty good politician. Matt Herben is also pretty good, Nawijn and stuff however fuck it up. It's not realy the voter who was stupid.

Anyway, don't count on it that it will happen again. My bet is that you will have to wait a full 4 years :)

And Pim Fortuyn wasn't a good politician, ok he is better then the stuff what is in his party (Mat Herben may look the only one who is trying to use his mind) But he tried tell people there were problems which were very big, but they were actually not big. (Like safety, if you say to someone that it isn't safe, and you tell 100 of stories which happened to people, then those people wouldn't feel safe anymore)

you do not know that, he was not in the politics yet... if he just wasn't killed

Ok, maybe he could have turned out quite well, but I really doubt he would be really good. He couldn't match up against my favorite, Paul Rosenmuller (ex-GroenLinks party leader)

I like Wouter Bos of the PvdA (Party of the Laborers) too. But they should be more socialistic

So stupid to vote for demagogues like Fortuyn was? You are lucky he was shot. In last votes in Slovakia we had one such, Robert Fico, and I thank to God he got less than us. Radical politicians are dangerous. Christianic democracy is only peaceful and seeking consense.

Absolutely not. Everyone was blaming the left politicians that they spread hatred, and that that was the reason he was killed.

And now people are starting to worship Pim Fortuyn like he was a so fantastic politician. While his ideas are actually still awful and very dangerous.

So, his party has now support on about 8-9 %. Even in Slovakia that isn't much, and we have much more parties in parliament than Netherlands ;).

Yes, they really ruined it, in that half of a year they were supposed to rule.

If they waited 3 months more, I was able to vote, then I was 18

That's a problem of all parties built around one strong leader. They do nothing else then but finding a new one. We had such problem here with our nationalists. Their leader Slota was replaced and SNS had in last votes last year only 3%.

True, when he died, suddenly everyone loved him (i dunno why... but probably cuz everyone else pretended to love him), anyway... his ideas were not directly dangerous... it is not comparable to the CD. I think he did had a few good points, most of them i did not agree on. But certain things were not too bad. I think he would've made a fine politician.

Caid, it's pretty cheap to compare Fortuyn to Haider. Fortuyn was no racist, he wanted a firm anti immigrant policy, wether they were white, black, blue whatever.

He did make some anti-islam statements, but at that time there was a lot of uproar about imams making anti-homosexual statements, and Pim Fortuyn was gay. I don't blame him for being angry...lol.

Anyway, Bos is better then Melkert (obviously), but he and his party aren't as socialist as they used to be. I don't even see why the PvdA still call themselves "social democrats".
