But what are you really worried about? Like Acriku said, no one will care. Isn't it better that they do this than let terrorists e-mail and phone to eachother undisturbed? Sure, it feels like having a part of your freedom removed, but at least you and your friends/family have a greater security. What if you found out that your neighbour built bombs and had weapons, and that he was exposed and set in jail because of the Patriot Act? And if they do seuspect someone, they got to have proof.

The government has always been able to tap your phone, provided they have a warrant.
